We did say the following in the maintenance post:
Please keep us updated on your experiences, I'll be following along closely. In this exploratory approach, the goal is to set extreme parameters, resulting in unpredictable matchmaking Time/Quality. Nonetheless, we will not keep the change if it results in bad matchmaking experiences or if the average matchmaking time is increased.
It did say it would be going to extremes but I never suspected the devs would be crazy enough to just up and remove every kind of parameter and let new players be thrown in with Rep 160 players and above.Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
This is what the PTS servers are for. Doing this in the live game... Well, I hope the team is cool with saying goodbye to all of the players that get put through misery because of this extreme level of testing that should never be done out in the live game.
Using the live game as an experiment, and subjecting paying costumers to it isn't the most inspired idea I've ever heard.
PTS servers or closed testing programs are commonplace in the industry, and the perfect spot for things like this, as you don't subject your live playerbase to potential disasters.
Okay but, few questions :Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
-why not doing that on PTS servers ? This is a very dangerous decision to test it in live.
-in theory a MM more Skills based is good. But currently it just look like their are no parameters. So how do you measure Skills ?
-first feedbacks are already there and that's the same disgusting expérience on all platforms from both beginners and experienced players. So how much time the team would need this feedback before going back with the basic MM ?
One thing to really consider right now though: I am sure the game population is very low those days. So this should be an inherent problem to mm. It should spike with next season, but actually, besides a very cool hero, content delivery seems lacking. And on of the most troubling aspects still is that balance is in a bad state with still a lot of the older cast not being really efficient or fun to play. This limits player to the new content, but the less new stuff we get, the faster the game as a whole will feel to get older. So ... what is my incentive to play right now? I would love to revisit my Nobushi. She is crap though. I will for sure try out the new hero. But then ... I dunno -.-
I mean I fear that even faction war wont change at all and Ubi is going to break their promise on them joining the faction war. And with sadly a lot of friends thinking like me ... yea, we wait for Vortiger and just see how the game feels then. Guess will be way better for some days because many, many players will be back. How long will it last though?
Why it is not possible for Ubisoft, to create a MM who is fast and fair??
Before it was fairer but soooooo slow. Now it is fast and soooooo unfair...….
Why I can only Play with Players from my Kontinent Europe? Why there are no Global Servers in which I can Play with Players from Australia or Southamerika??
You'd verse players with 150+ latency. Playing against a light spamming Orochi (or any class with decent speed lights) with high ping is basically a GG.Originally Posted by o...Frank...o Go to original post
I agree, most players can't reliably parry everything in that rep range. It puts them at a huge disadvantage and it makes the game a lot less fun for them. When I started playing the game I was constantly thrown in matches with rep 20+ but that was because I teamed up with friends who had the game since release. It wasn't fun and made me wonder if I had wasted my money. Luckily my friends taught me the basics while trolling me, lol. They made me think Nobushi (my main at the time) could deflect... she can't lmao. 1 and a half years ago parrying for me was an achievement, now it's 'just a parry'.Originally Posted by Baggin_ Go to original post
