I really do love this game and you guys, but this is a slap in the face. Ive edited this post many times but I'm so mad about this that i can barely write it without getting too mad. I think this is the best I can do.
Why do allow duplicate cards from crates? Why do you waste our time like that?? And worse you give 20 credits back for each duplicate which means you take 20 crates from us and give us 1 crate back! Is that supposed to make us feel better? How would you feel if I stole $20 from you and gave you $1 back so you would feel better about being robbed? Do you know how long it takes us to earn 20 crates? It's wasting our time and it's robbery. You take 8000 credits from us and give us 400 back to make it better?? Who thought that up? Who thought the gaming community would be happy to have it's time wasted? It gives the impression you do not value our time and effort.
My suggestion - remove duplicates all together. Once an item is unlocked, it should be removed from our list of available cards.
**sigh** please don't hate me, love you guys.
I’ll take a bit of a contrary view... please don’t hate me
I honestly don’t know why games like this offer free credits and crates to play. And I don’t think they make much difference whether they were generous or cheap with the Prestige economy.
I get the idea of the store and even Spec Ops and Ghost War crates which are direct revenue generators but the whole idea of Prestige points and crates is a bit bizarre.
There’s no way to buy Prestige Credits. You get them in return for playing the game... something you would be doing anyway. So essentially they are free. If you get anything for them, it’s a bonus. Whether they are cheap or generous, it’s all just a bonus for playing.
I guess giving away stuff to play may be a good way to encourage more people to play PvP but whether they had Prestige Credits in the PvE or not probably would have zero impact on who still plays and who has moved on. It may keep some PvE players coming back for the weekly challenges, but if that’s all you’re doing what’s the point if you’re not sticking around to use your rewards?
Are you PvP or PvE?
Isn’t playing the game enough? Why do you need to be compensated to play at all?
If they changed it so every prestige crate was like the other crates and offered 3 non duplicate items, and everyone had all the items in the pool after a couple months of play, would anything change in terms of the size of the player community? The only impact I can think of is that no one would need to buy anything from the store so revenue would drop.
I think whether they were generous or removed it completely it would have very little material impact on who plays and how much. But I don’t really understand why they have the Prestige economy in the first place.
And I also don’t understand why people complain about getting any kind of compensation for playing the game.
Perhaps it would cut into profits from purchasing crates but as I've mentioned a Googol amount of times on this forum, the ability to trade items may alleviate some of the above frustrations.Originally Posted by WarMonk111 Go to original post

HAVE to be duplicates? Only in a world where you accept gambling on the luck of crate contents via a randomized spinning wheel format. The truth is no game NEEDS these God forsaken mystery crates, which are no better than a gaming version of a casino slot machine. It's pretty obvious developers of the games that have them are banking on players being addicted to trying their luck.
There’s no gambling involved here: Crates that you have to pay for don’t contain duplicates, while Crates that do are free and the credits from those duplicates can be used to acquire those paid Crates for free.
Stop complaining, seriously. There are FAR worse games out there.
No kidding. I've never quite understood those stating the crate system is in fact gambling.Originally Posted by RedCeII Go to original post
First of all, Ubisoft undoubtedly have lawyers, lawyers familiar with what actually constitutes gambling. Second, you receive something of "value" no matter how you might acquire a crate and then open it.
