Great points hereOriginally Posted by devores Go to original post
First it should be noted that I am utter rubbish at this game and get abused fairly regularly---in the text chat because I have squad volume turned down, though I'm pretty getting trashed over voice comms as well---for being (currently) prestige 16 but still being so bad. As I've noted on previous occasions my KDR and WLR are both below 1.0, meaning I die more often than I kill and lose more often than I win.Originally Posted by devores Go to original post
The term carebear just means "people who don't PvP", it makes no judgement about the gaming skill of a person. I personally think we should all be chomping at the bit to pewpew each other, skill level notwithstanding. Is only gaem, no one haef to be maed. ))))
As it turns out from how you describe yourself I think I'd be lucky to have someone like you on my squad. I usually prefer to play assault roles---despite my poor skills---because I like getting up in people's faces and having exciting fights even if I'm liable to die, but, to borrow a metaphor from the Punisher and Micro, a missile needs a guidance system, and I love having a drone player to find the enemy so I know where to charge. XD
Glad to hear that. I really enjoy it as well. I've spent far more time PvPing than PvEing in recent months.Originally Posted by kaptnfusselbart Go to original post
My concern is that right now there are just oodles of people PvEing but very few PvPing. According to Ubi's analytics more people played GRW last month than in December of 2017, but the player numbers in Ghost War never went above "medium" during EMEA primetime throughout December, and often NCSA didn't even make it to "medium" during their primetime.
This, combined with how much more rewarding PvP has already been made in terms of prestige credit opportunities, gives me to understand that the game still has plenty of people but that they need to be attracted from the campaign over to Ghost War.
And we have a lot of good people here on this forum who have either never played PvP or tried it a little but were put off by various reasons. Yes, a lot of players are toxic. Yes, the learning curve is somewhat steep, Yes, playing with randoms gets you rekt when you come up against a squad of four from the same task force who play together every day and have good communication and teamwork.
But I still feel Ghost War is fun and rewarding, and thus I wonder what it would take to get more carebears to give it a chance (or more of a chance). What Ubi could do on their end to sweeten the proposition of PvPing for those who aren't interested in it for its own sake. As I've said before we can dilute the toxicity if we get more chill people in larger numbers into the matches. ))))
Along with dubious amounts of Prestige points or crates, clothing items would also be a nice incentive as well.Originally Posted by non-exist-ent Go to original post
Maybe some unique tacticool items that you can only get in Ghost War but that are not too hard to get once you do start PvPing?Originally Posted by Ryo_Hazaki Go to original post

What is the requirements? Headset + Mic, Where do get together, sing Kumbaya and then go cap the bad guys
Asking stupid questions as always just to know what else I need to bring... aside from my Barrett .50 Cal of course
Ditto but Perhaps I have been doing it wrong all this time and all it needs is people like this bunch willing to participate in a mature way or Rambo our way through it if that's how we all feel... I am all for that, even if I am probably the least one with available times and experience.Originally Posted by Lunatic LK47 Go to original post

Unfortunately there no .50 rifles in PvP, you'll have to make do with some .338 Lapua. XDOriginally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
And, pff, all three days, all hours, I'm down for whatever. ))))
We can use my Discord for comms, I guess?
Don't be scared, GMT, I'll hold you. XDOriginally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
For me, it's not about the crates and other "incentives". The incentive in my case would be a game that provided a hardcore mode to begin with. .....or at least the proper tools in Custom Match that we had asked for and would have allowed it to be a viable option for those like me who wanted alternatives to the direction they took GW.
These new challenges are all well and good but short lived (i.e. only implemented for a short time). ....although I'm excited by the popularity / interest in the more hardcore of them by the community. Hopefully this will show Ubi that perhaps they should have listened to that element of their fanbase long ago (most of which have long since departed).
My only hope (and the reason I still stick around) is to see if there is any hope in a sequel that will take this into account. However, if Ubi ever does decide to make some real changes to this GW, it might convince me to wipe the virtual dust off of my copy. .....if there is anyone still left playing by then.
