Xbox one s. Is there more than one type of kinect to xbox one? In that case I don't really know what type mine is? I have the adapter that is needed to use kinect to xbox one s. The thing is that when I bought the kinect and plugged it in and set it up everything worked fine. And so it did for like a week or so.
It worked fine until the 23december. My kids played it the 22dec and we also got unlimited that day and played songs from unlimited. The next day, the 23:rd, the problem started and since then the kinect doesn't recognize the player in any song.
I wrote to ubisoft support on the 29th december but havn't got any information. As you have read it seems like its not just me that has this problem.
Hey guys! Here are the workaround steps we have to offer for this issue at the moment. Please let us know if you've tired all these steps, and you are still having issues with your Kinect.
1) Make sure that you are is 6 - 9 ft (2 - 3 meters) away from the camera.
2) Make sure the camera is at least 2 ft (60 cm) off the floor.
3) Make sure the camera is on the edge of the surface it is sitting on.
4) Try to limit the number of people and objects behind the player.
5) Ensure that their are no objects between the player and the camera (Coffee tables, lamps, chairs, etc.) 6) The room should be well lit, but direct bright light onto the camera will interfere.
7) Make sure there is at least 2 ft (60 cm) space between players.
8) Ensure there are no reflective objects behind the player.
9) If the player is less than 3 ft (1 meter) tall, the camera can often struggle pick up the players movements and poses. Have these players make more exaggerated movements and poses.
10) Try to wear clothes that contrast the color of the background. If your issues persist, we would suggest contacting your console manufacturer as the camera may require maintenance or replacement.
This is really strange! I've already tried it all. Before the problem started it all worked fine. My kids played in both good and bad light and the kinect is placed on the same spot now as before. Now it doesn't matter what light we have or where we place the kinect.
As I've written before the kinect seems to work fine when I'm in the settings-menu and I can see on the screen what the kinect sees. But when we play it doesn't work.
I can add this. When I am in the game where you chose a player you usually see a silhouette of yourself. If I now press the xbox-button I come to the xbox-menu. If I then return to the game I see the silhouette of my self for maybe half a second and then it disappears. Can this help you to figure out the problem? I think it is a software-problem. Do you know if there has been any updates in the game?
So I just bought Just Dance 2020 and it seems to have the exact same issue of not registering movements.
I followed all the steps to configure the Kinect. Nothing has worked. The fact that this has been an on going issue for a year and carried over to a new product is frustrating. It records, the Kinect is working. We have a well lit and large space.
What the heck is going on Ubisoft?

There are no known issues with the Kinnect not registering the movements.
If you do encounter this it is usually resolved by following the troubleshooting steps provided in this thread or following the steps on the Microsoft website.
I have just bought 2020 and same issue we have. It doesn't pick up that there is anybody on the Kinect and that anyone is playing but records it all. Done all trouble shooting steps and sure enough it says no score is registered. EVERY TIME. So there is obviously an issue and nobody is dealing with it. Will just stop buying the games simple
