I do not know if this is a known issue yet or not but i wanted to bring it to someones attention. I was in a casual dual match when you are selecting your hero for the match. On that screen i was disconnected and still received the match making quitter penalty. I thought there was supposed to be a 30 second grace window in which you can quit at the beginning of the match. Regardless I didn't quit to begin with the game disconnected me. I don't think this should apply a penalty and hope it is a bug. If it is working as intended please change this. You should not be punished for the game messing up.

Did you end up quitting out of the game completely (before you received the penalty)?
Did you receive any error message?

Sorry I took so long to respond, I could not find what section I put this post under and forgot about it for a while. As of 2/11/2019 It is still happening. I play on PS4. This doesn't seem to happen very often and I don't quite know what triggers it. I think it may have something to do will the changing battle lines and battle fronts of the war map that causes the game to crash. Anyways, what happens is as soon as the match making finds a match to join I load into the match and right as the character select screen pops up I am kicked from the game back to the PS4 main menu. However an error message does appear before it allows me to continue back to the actual main menu of the PS4. I do not remember what the error message was and I forgot to write it down. However after the application closes itself and the error message goes away I restart For Honor and load back in. When I go to try and join another match it says I have a time penalty of 15-30 minutes. I believe it was 15 for unranked games and 30 for ranked games. The penalty is not for both game types though, so if I got disconnected from a ranked match the penalty isn't applied to unranked thankfully, and visa versa. It's kind of frustrating because this is out of my control and even then it should be considered within the grace period. I personally did not touch anything or attempt to trigger the game application to close in any way. It does it by itself and is out of my hands. And yes the disconnected does seem to be instantaneous. The Character select screen flashes up for a split second then I get the error message and the application is auto closed out of.
