[TECHNICAL ISSUE] Annoying and frustrating keyboard lag

Imagine you are infiltrating a fort and suddenly when you sneak up behind enemy your movement suddenly stop because the keyboard input LAGGING so much, you can not move anywhere, enemies spotted you and butchered you to death without you cant do any ****. You ended up loading last save because of the new lame save system in this AC engine, I started over from beginning.

When this lag happened, pretty much nothing you can do. delayed movement, delayed fight, all ended up death and reloading save.

Hello, I'm currently playing AC Odyssey and I'm having issues with keyboard lagging/delay input which has been frustrating and make me unable to play the game normally. I followed all AC series from the first, and to be honest this is the 1st time i almost give up finishing the game because of this stupid technical issue. Ive been googling and searching the forums for similar issues but find no solution so far. Weirdly though this issue didnt happened in AC origins I played before.

I already tried changing settings, manually or via geforce experience, restarting the game, reinstalling. None works.
I'm using wireless Logitech K270 keyboard. when i switched tab and return to windows for another activity like browsing, it works normally. so the problem should be from the game.

    Can anybody help me?

Hey there AnnoyingOnion! Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear you're having issues with input lag.

In the first instance can you ensure that your keyboard drivers/supporting software is fully updated? If you have access to one, can you try using a wired keyboard?

Sorry for late reply. quite time zone we have here.

    I already tried :
    - updating VGA card,
    - no downloadable driver available, only supporting software (already downloaded too). unfortunately I have no wired keyboard to be tested with.
    - unplugging joypad connector during gameplay (might cause it). seems okay in couple hours playing but the lagging bug occurs again.
    - downgrading my graphics setting. only affect in FPS performance.

    what I noticed:
    - lag/delay may occur when i goes to menu (like main menu, or maps menu or inventories) and switch back to game playing view.
    - this lag cause a minor bug in a quest. in "Enough is enough" quest, when I investigate pipe near lake, and press E, the camera zoom in but the character didn't move or has animation to interact with object. Just simply stay still. Has to manually pressed Esc to put camera back in playing mode.
    - lag sometimes occur when doing free run/jump, when movement key pressed together with free run button. Can be happened when mounted on horse too.
    - maybe has something to do with how the game engine interpret button input. when you in combat and need to continuously press button, sometimes it cause lag/delay too. Like it has too many inputs in very short time and the engine not responding for a moment.

so far thats what i found

Thanks for the additional information! Please note that bumping threads is against our forum guidelines

At this time we haven't been able to rule out the keyboard itself and any potential connectivity or input issues it may have.

Are you running the game as administrator? Do you have the discord overlay active?

Hello, what language setup you running on your keyboard when you start the game? I usually running my national one and I having same issues, this is wired keyboard. I happens when i walk, on horse or when I sneak, my character just start to run forward and I cant cancel it by any other actions then pressing Esc multiple times. As I had some keyboard issues also with R6S I learned that starting Ubisoft games usually solving issues with ENG keyboard.
Just before while I did and now Im testing it if issue will occure again but for now it didnt. So in case you using some other language as default try start game with ENG. Should help Let me know if it helped to you.

Hello. my default keyboard already in EN (United States) so it shouldn't be the problem.

I'm moving the USB receiver for keyboard to unplugged USB port for joystick, which is nearer the keyboard. Hope will do some work.

@AnnoyingOnion I'd recommend running Steam, Uplay and ACOD as an admin on your PC. I'd also recommend disabling any extra background applications you may have open when playing ACOD.

I don't know what you guys at Ubisoft done in latest update (apart from game content) but seems the keyboard delay didn't occured anymore in 2-3 times playing. And with latest update, my FPS has gone up results in smoother gameplay. Hope it will be some new light of hope for me to continue the game.

Note: after the update, i also done "verify integrity of local files" from Steam library, cleanup system with Ccleaner paused all download manager/torrent apps.
