Making Farming fun... at least for me

This is on PC so your miles may vary. I just learn that you can Level Up your weapon and this is why I am doing it. I am also on Tier 1 (actually Tier 42) just to make this more interesting.

Ok so everyone here has seen or made his/her own videos of farming for XP or prestige credits, etc, etc, etc but, at least for me, all of those walkthrough videos are tedious or chores like so I have tried to make it fun. Fun as in... you get to do some shooting while looting the Convoys. This is definitely not for those with Gazillion hours on this game since they pretty much know everything there is to know about the game, this is more for those who are just starting or bored like I am and at least you get to enjoy farming.

Sometimes I make it a Sniping session, some other times (Koani Alpha) I even play Unidad against SB near the base (pull your drone up toward the power lines and see enemies near by, dispense of them however you wish and either wait for the Convoy or move closer and some other time I make it a full out loud session

Sorry, I am not a video buff so this will have to do... if you have any improvements on to how we can enjoy this even further, please don't hesitate to let me know how.

I start by going to the Map and choosing either Koani Alpha, Koani Bravo or Remanzo Bravo and depending on how close or far the convoy is, I move closer to them (less than 1K) or just pull the drone (in Remanzo Bravo for instance) and call for rebel spotting, I prepare a sync shot between the driver and passenger of the convoy truck and either the pilot or one of the gunners of the convoy and once I am ready and away from a base or anything that can start a hunted scenario I give the order to take those 3 baddies down and let the fun begin.

This is it, short and sweet... make of it what you will and if you don't think is a big deal then it won't be

I do have a couple of questions though...

    A) Why Does Koani Bravo seems to be always broken as it normally takes a loooong time to load and sometimes it even gives me a percentage of what has load staying at 75% and slow going up to 85% and then the map or simply it stays at 75% for what seems forever and then loads the map. Any other fast travel place doesn't do this.

    B) In Remanzo Bravo, I give my guys the order to fire and the SB is shooting back, aren't the rebels supposed to also back me up and fire at the SB thugs? You see them walking weapon at the ready and yet, they only look at the thugs and do nothing, others do shoot but not necessarily at the thugs while some of the ones arriving in trucks just look at SB taking on the scene.

    As for:

A} Why? Who really knows? Might just be sloppy coding. At other places (and times) extra long loading screens also take place.

    B) The rebel AI is quirky(?) in how they have been coded. Sometime rally point rebels engage, other times not. Most likely it's a combination of factors, and there would need to be some input from someone who either worked on the game, or someone who had some interface with same, on the subject of exactly how is the rebel AI configured coding-wise.

For example, you deploy a noisemaker drone and you can have Unidad, rebels and SB thugs all doing the same slent shadow dance (ignoring each other) in the same area if they happen to "hear" that drone. Then they resume their pre-programmed routine unless you the player force the issue in some manner.

Ok, so at least I am not the only one who has gotten that bug or glitch on Koani Bravo and while you are right and other rally points are glitchy I believe this one is the worse... or it could be that I feel that way because it is one of the rally points I am using for farming purposes.

I wish I could have some sort of say for the Rebels to attack, help or GTFO my AO but alas, it is what it is.

Regarding Koani Bravo - Frag has also mentioned the extra long loading screens in relationship to his video walk-thru. No, I think we all have the same situation, at least if we're on the PC. And naturally the more times you FT to that location, the more noticible it's going to appear, especially if you then choose another, such as Espiritu Santo Alpha (one of my go-to locations when I was Tier grinding).

I got to Tier 20 with a couple weapons at Level 30 by doing convoys and repeating some high point missions and ultimately dreaded the fast travel load times as well. It made fast travel not so fast. I almost gave up on Tier Mode due to the monotony and tedium of it.

However, about that time (end of November or so) I watched a DarkDally video showing how to farm points shooting Unidad vehicles from a Cobra Gunship and that changed everything. It also got to be boring at times, but it was super fast, and actually somewhat satisfying. I went from Tier 20 to Tier 1 in 3 evenings of play and because convoys were also on the roads in Libertad where I did this method, I ended up with 250K of each resource by the end (that’s by just blowing the convoy up). I didn’t Level any additional weapons as I had no intention of playing in a Tier Mode, I was just after the rewards, but if you do intend to level weapons, do this method and wait til you get to Tier 1 as the resource bonus multiplier makes it a lot faster.

VR, can you point out the High Point Missions... Like I said before, I am looking for fun things to do to pass the time because re-doing missions w/o some sort of a storyline gets old as well.

Also, the darkdally video, if that is a fun thing to do, even though I suck real bad at flying, that gives me something else to do.

Mike, can you point out what you used to do in Espiritu Santo Alpha?

Like I said, I don't want it to be tedious or feel like a chore so whatever methods you guys use, I will try to do it.

Hey, just google "Tier Mode missions" and you will find lots of articles that offer a list of quick high point missions. But the ones that jump to mind are those in the Peruvian Connection pack in Inca Camina, a few of the Boston Reed missions in Koani, and a few of the missions in Espirito Santo like the mines and the Advisor.

EDIT: Here's the best mission guide for Tier Mode I've seen: https://www.reddit.com/r/GhostRecon/...er_level_fast/

The video I mentioned using the Cobra is here... (I got a Cobra in a crate so can spawn one using Rebel Vehicle Drop which makes this by far the easiest method)...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDqdoSSohQQ&t=1s

I focused my efforts on the roads at the end of the River in Libertad between the two bridges and the oil derricks at the very end of the river. At some points, there were more Unidad vehicles on the road than I could possibly kill. It was like shooting fish in a barrel for about 500-800 points a pop.

First, what VR stated regarding researching the re-playing of missions. Spend some time trying different approaches. Be creative.

As for the use of the gunships; Darkdally actually came to the party rather late for showcasing that technique. I was finding references to it in various o/l posts well before he posted that video, and so had already started using that method. In fact I didn't have much luck in getting solid returns in the Libertad/Floa de Oro region. However there's one method which can be repeated which pays dividends. To get a Cobra gunship; go to the FOB in NW Libertad at night, CQC kill as as many as you can to clear the base (can rack thousands of XP) . It has a Cobra. Yours for the taking. Plus the cleared base can be used to tag the convoy when it passes right in front.

For me a great area for racking up Unidad road kills, as well as a convoy, is north Inca Camina, south Montuyoc. Area is better suited for helo ops at low level because there aren't any issues with trees. It's barren. Grab the rocket-armed H-60 helo from in front of the mine in Montuyoc (the one for the boss mission). You can work the main road in that area from one end to the other and repeat, as well as some spill over area into western Pucara.

Another fruitful area for getting road kills turned out to be the road in Southern Malca that runs into Southern Floa de Oro.

Espiritu Santo Alpha was the jumping-off point for repeating some of the missions as well as tagging the convoy which passes nearby.

    Hope that helps.

This list was put by Ami, showing the high point missions that are easiest to do.

Sorry, Ami, I had this copied as I worked through it a few times for the giggles and a quick search didn't get a hit so I couldn't quote you.

    Notes
    1) i couldn't get any sync shot markers on the Drs. One you can snipe the other 2 an explosive drone can get them both
    2) the SAM is easier to hit from the other side of the base
    4) harder at night because 3 or 4 Sicarios return to their room that you need to pass
    13) works better for me with a rebel diversion out the front as well. Unidad kept seeing and killing me from the driveway.

    Tier 1 missions

    (1) Trigger "The Mule Doctors" in Remanzo and fast travel to Marcavi, pop a drone, syncshot the docs, done.
    (2) Call a missile helicopter, trigger "The Quinoa Factory", fly there, shoot the SAM, shoot the two objectives, done.
    (3) Trigger "The Chemist", fly the same missile chopper over to the location, blow up narcos until the chemist drives out of the compound, case his car down and destroy it, throw him in the chopper, didimau to safehouse, skip cutscene, done.
    (4) Trigger "The Truck Depot" in Koani, fast travel to Huertas, quickly sneak through the depot and get the intel, sneak out, done.
    (5) Immediately trigger "The Convoy", launch a drone from just outside the Huertas depot, see the convoy, do rebel intel and syncshot the driver, mortar the lorry, call in rebel diversion to kill everyone else in the convoy to enable fast travel, done.
    (6) Trigger "Boston Reed", fast travel to Koani Alpha, call a missile chopper, fly to the makeshift airfield, kill everyone with missiles, call Reed, kill him with missiles, done.
    (7) Trigger "Train Graveyard", fly over to it, shoot hostiles with missiles, interdict the car of the fleeing lieutenant, interrogate him, fly away to get fast travel back if some hostiles are still alive, done.
    (8) Trigger "Gabriela" in Mojocoyo, fast travel to Panua, call a small chopper that can be easily parked on the 2 side of the church (knock down some of that stone wall), get Gabriela, fly to the safehouse, skip cutscene, done.
    (9) Trigger "The Northern Plane", fast travel to Inca Camina Alpha, call a missile chopper, fly to the location, shoot the cocaine shipments, done.
    (10) Trigger "La Cabra", fly over there in the same chopper, kill her and the negotiator with missiles, done.
    (11) Trigger "The Southern Plane", fly over there in the same chopper, shoot the cocaine shipments, done.
    (12) Trigger "The Eastern Plane", fly over there in the same chopper, shoot the cocaine shipments, fly away if hostiles are still alive to reenable fast travel, done.
    (13) Trigger "El Emisario", fast travel to "Ocoro Charlie", take a small chopper to El Emisario's house, land on the roof, kill a few Unidad there, check Emisario's body for suicide note, fly away, done.
    (14) Trigger "The Advisor", fast travel to Espiritu Santo Alpha, grab a bike and go a few hundred metres into the jungle towards the objective, pop an explosive drone, fly it into the sanctuary, kill the target, done.
    (15) Trigger "Soldiers of Santa Muerte", call a missile chopper, fly over the two barracks and nuke everyone, done.
    (16) Trigger "Gold Rush North", fly to the location, syncshot the three narcos outside the mine, silently kill the two in the mine, drop C4 on the objective, get out of the mine, detonate, fly away, done.
    (17) Trigger "La Santera's Chapel", fly there, kill as many SB as possible with missiles before you chopper goes down (it almost certainly will), crash land outside the church, call rebels, rush in, grab the book, fly out, drive out, or run out until you can fast travel, done.
    (18) Trigger "La Santera", fast travel to Espiritu Santo Alpha again, take a small chopper to the objective, sneak using suppressors and syncshots to clear a few heavies in your way, grab La Santera, didimau back to the chopper, exfil to the safehouse, skip cutscene, done

Yep, even on a 3400 MB/s NVMe drive it's consistently 2:04 sec to load that safehouse, and that's after clicking the final tab.

I also mentioned Spotting convoys then sync shotting the cargo vehicle driver (and passenger so he doesn't drive off in it) and one of the escort gunners was my go to stealth way of farming tier points back when others were saying the EMP drone was the best way.
