Just watched a youtube video and while reading the comments there were comments about stuttering when playing on console. I've never experienced that. But also, there were comments about hi res textures. So, I checked and I never installed that update. So, I'm curious about whether to install the hi res textures or not. I use a 4K/HDR TV in game mode, but don't want to go hi res and risk smooth gameplay.
Does anyone have any experience that they can share?

I installed the hi- res textures a few months ago. There are very noticeable improvements in the character details as well as the environment.

BTW I use a 55" 4k HDR TV maybe that's why i can see the improvements as should you. If the TV is not 4k then probably not noticeable.

If your data isn't a limitation, then I think it's worth at least trying it out.
