Ultimate ***** session! Screw derankers, or join them?

I have been playing this game almost from the launch and love it. I also have spent plenary on it but, the nonsense needs to stop. We have all faced derankers, especially in legendary. There has been updates to try to mitigate derankers and still, the problem is worse today than ever. I spend most of the legendary season in the top 2000 until the final weekend of the season. Once there are a few days left in legendary season, all of a sudden we face level 20+ NK with maxed out cards who spent the whole season preying on people who stand no chance. Just so they can get their pvp pack in two matches. Meanwhile, us grinders plug away and play competitively with like opponents.

I’ve read the posts, heard both sides. I understand that some people only have a small amount of time to play and it is hard to get the lockers and packs when you actually have to play your level. IT SHOULD BE! It is a game of skill! A game of wits to outmatch your opponents! But I digress. The fact is it sucks that people are lame and find it enjoyable to just plow through people who are actually trying and having fun. And they get rewarded for it.

So what to do? Since everyone else is doing it should we all do it? Say, “screw the people who are actually playing the game. We know how to exploit it.” I’m almost starting to think that is the only way to play this game. Take the easy road for 28 days, then climb the boards and cash in!

If anyone wants to argue with me feel free to. I’ll see all you derankers in the 15000’s next season.

    Oh! And screw Dougie!

Screw you guys, I’m goin home.

I hate deranking more than anything else in this game. It is selfish and makes it impossible some days to make progress. It took me an hour this morning to get my PvP pack. I hear derankers say they don't have time to play the honest way so they basically sandbag and cheat. If that's the case, delete the game. You're killing it for the rest of us. There is no legitimate excuse for deranking.

Ok, so you're going to make the problem worse?
That's what I'm taking away from this.
I just broke into legendary a few months ago, I've been playing the game for about a year, and while I definitely run into derankers, on occasion, I wouldn't stoop to their level. Have some darned tegrity.

Absolutely not! It was a rant and I fully intend on playing like I have for the last year. I stand with the players who actually play.

They did a decent job of fixing the issue of derankers who stayed out of legendary altogether. What they haven't fixed is people who derank within legendary until the last weekend of the season. I agree, it is a soul-sucking grind and it's very demoralizing to spend the entire season thinking you know roughly where you rank, then lose thousands of LSR in the last two days.

There is no fix for this the way it's currently set up -- where your rank on the last second of the season is your season rank that determines your reward. What they should do is calculate your average rank throughout the season (maybe captured every 24 hours) and give that 50% weight in determining your reward. That would incentivize people to compete throughout the season.

This is the #1 issue tempting me to bail on the game. I was ranked ~#1200 yesterday and thought I was in pretty good line to stay in the top 1500 and get that reward tier. In the last 24 hours I've probably lost 70% of my matches to re-rankers with lvl 4 leggies, lvl 5 epics, etc. and now I'm nearing rank 3000. I might lose two whole tiers in one day. It's garbage. Combine this with a token event and it's even worse.

This is a great idea! I too was top 1500 before the event. I barely clawed back to 2800 and haven’t played since so I may keep my rank. They should do either a card weighted match or a season weighted rank system. Could be a great fix.

Yep, very similar issues here on a lower tier, but was around 3000, then ended at about 6600 something... And yes, sometimes it's about an hour to get a freakin' PVP pack... I do hate derankers, they should stop the game if they want / need to cheat. I hate all other cheaters, too btw
