Game breaking bug... who cares?? Not Ubi.

I bought this game last week for my girlfriend and she's loved it, we both tried to complete this challenge and got hit with countless crashes no matter what workarounds we attempted. No returns available for digital copies, but we sure wished we could after seeing how your company doesn't seem to care. Needless to say, we won't be purchasing anything from you in the future. Shame too because I really liked Assassin's Creed Black Flag and enjoyed Valhalla. But your support is lacking and the attitude shows that the company doesn't care about their products or their consumers. It's been how many years with no patch and it crashes the game consistently? Come on with that "not in active development," more like "no one cares and we aren't getting paid to care so keep whining in our forum while we keep your money." We see you.
I couldnt have said it better myself I literally just got the game and am faced with the same dilemma of others here. Then now I echo your sentiment, funny thing is I have supported Ubi for a very long time with alot of their products, but no longer... If enough of us take a stand like this one they may one day listen, when theres no one else to snag cash from, laugh all the way to the bank, and leave a project unfinished with its game breaking bugs. Pity. But I have to commend you for being so well spoken and for saying exactly what I was about to.

I really appreciate you sharing your sentiments about this, KillaJake and Dolyttle. I can certainly understand your frustration, and I've been sure to pass on your feedback about this. My apologies that I'm not able to offer any specific updates or insights. Let me know if you've any more thoughts or questions about this.

    New Workaround

I tried most of the work-arounds here, and nothing worked for me. What was happening was that whenever the enemies moved, the game crashed. So I finally found a work-around that worked for me: I came back to this challenge when I was a bit higher leveled. I killed one of the enemies with one hit, and the other one I crit with a honey weapon, so that they couldn't move. I then failed the challenge, and when I re-started the challenge, it stopped crashing.

Some iteration of failing the challenge and re-starting to work-around the bug has been floated in other posts on this thread. This ^ was the work around that finally worked for me.

Just wanted to throw that out there for anybody else who was stuck on this bug.

Just got this game and have been loving it until I came to this exact same issue. Ubi you’ve known about this for 2+ years and still haven’t managed to fix/patch it?? Wtf? That’s pretty ridiculous. Seems like the vast majority of ppl have the same exact problem.

    Welcome to the forums elind2,

Sorry to hear this issue has impacted your experience!

As noted above this has been raised to the team however as core development for the game has since concluded, we have no additional information available at this time as to when an update is expected.

Should this change, we'll of course let players know but in the meantime, please give the suggested workarounds above a try as one of those may allow you to progress too.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Hello everyone,

Our teams have asked us to relay some information about a workaround they have discovered for this issue.

If you first either move Mario or perform a Dash attack before using the primary weapon, the game no longer crashes.

If you do try this, and find that it works (or indeed if it does not), please do let us know

This does not work as an FYI for those that come after.

    Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out, sorry to see our recently suggested workaround didn't work for you.

Just to check, did any of the older suggested workarounds help you?

After this, moving and attacking with Mario did not crash the game and I was able to complete the challenge.

When it loads up again it can be played normally.

    Mario Rabbids crashing ?

Crashing wouldn't really be a problem with the Switch in the first place anyway.

Crashing usually happens because of an internal error in the game. Whether it couldn't load data because it didn't exist/was corrupted or something broke.

I had Kingdom Battle crash on me once but that's all. It's not a common occurrence but it def can happen. If you have the game digitally and the game keeps crashing in the same spot then try reinstalling the game/using the check for corrupt data option
