    "Work-around" not a "Fix"

    This "fix" (which is really just a work-around) is not 100%. I've tried tons of different combinations of items/attacks/skills/doing nothing... as soon as the smasher furthest from where Luigi starts (or whichever 3rd char is in party) moves, whether by special effects, shooting and making him chase you, or just letting him take his turn, the game crashes.

    The other smasher seems to be just fine, and starting the challenge from the field or from the washing machine makes no difference. If you shoot him and get a Honey effect so he cannot move positions it does not crash, but something about that smasher changing his position for any reason crashes the game.

    First of all, English is not my main language.

    The thread is more than 2 years old and it's unbelievable that the Ubisoft staff makes us try some weird work arounds instead of PATCHING THE GAME.

    Are you guys serious?

    What drives me crazy is that the first time I've played the challenge was fine but I was on a hurry. I've lost twice on my first attempt and then I had to go to an appointment. So I thought "later I will try again". Since then only crashes.

    I've registered here just to rant. My game is digital and I have tried those "solutions" and they didn't work. I can't even lose on purpouse, it doesn't matter what move I make or which one of them I shoot, the game crashes in 5 seconds after the challenge starts.

    Stop milking some new Assassin's Creed or whatever crap you guys sell nowadays and put some devs to fix this. Since I have a digital copy I can't sell it, would have done that if it was physical.

    Jesus. It is unbelievable that a bug reported years ago and that the staff acknowledges hasn't been fixed so far.

    POS software

    I have tried all these work around and nothing. I'm so glad I only paid $20 for the game as the coding is obviously $hit. I may just take this back to best buy to get my money back. I know to avoid ubisoft games in the future. Lesson learned!

    Possible alternate solution

    Just found this thread because this crash was happening to me. In my case, the crash happened when either smasher moved for any reason. After about 3 or 4 crashes, I stopped and completed challenges 1-5 and 1-4 in that order. The I went back to 1-3, and the crash didn't happen. So there's another possible solution: complete some other challenges first, then go back to it. Hopefully that helps.

    Hey why you can't just fix this? You are reading this thread but your company doesn't fix it?
    Can you please just bring out a patch, so the challange count as accepted and I can finally get 100% in the game?
    Is it so hard to give me the product I paid for?

    This stance towards gamebreaking bugs especially in such a hisorically polished license is a huge red flag for customers when they look towards what products they might consider purchasing from you in the future. I bought this game last week for my girlfriend and she's loved it, we both tried to complete this challenge and got hit with countless crashes no matter what workarounds we attempted. No returns available for digital copies, but we sure wished we could after seeing how your company doesn't seem to care. Needless to say, we won't be purchasing anything from you in the future. Shame too because I really liked Assassin's Creed Black Flag and enjoyed Valhalla. But your support is lacking and the attitude shows that the company doesn't care about their products or their consumers. It's been how many years with no patch and it crashes the game consistently? Come on with that "not in active development," more like "no one cares and we aren't getting paid to care so keep whining in our forum while we keep your money." We see you.
