    Season 10 Week 2 Solo Challenge 3

    So over in this thread
    https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...s-stupid/page3

    I said the following:
Welcome to being a Tier-1 unit with minimal support. I can find you a story about an SAS guy, who had the misfortune of having his primary and secondary both go down while doing a tunnel clearing in Afghanistan. He completed his mission with over 30 EKIA with a ballpeen hammer. So I guess feel fortunate you have a pistol and not a hammer.

Stuff like that happens more than anyone would like to admit.
I didn't mean to give Ubisoft any ideas, but either it was fate, or whatever, that was essentially this weeks third solo challenge. So here is how I did it:

When Tier grinding, this method was great!
On replays I'm getting that 4-man patrol to be staggered towards the front initially, which isn't ideal for CQC until they switch at some point.

Even in Tier mode I had that happen to me a couple of times. Beat thing to do is figure out where they are as soon as you land. If they are in good position take them out quick. If they are not talk to Kovacks, fetch a coffee, and wait until they are in position (at least for CQC). You can take out the two guys by the drone jammer. The other bodies they will notice though.

All I know is... if I had that same chute malfunction, I'd be hunting down the manufacturer, zip-tying them, and playing Mumblety-peg with their nutsacks. Or maybe it was one of those new invisibility lanyards clipped to a cloud... still... Mumblety-peg it is!

    Well done, BTW, Bone.

Here's an idea for a twist to the two challenges we've seen involving Silent Spade; what's the fewest number of kills needed to successfully get a helo liftoff to continue the mission?
For example, can it be done with only two, or will require at least four?

It's hard to say. Nick in his video had a detection alert when the roving patrol found the bodies of the gate guards he had mistaken for the roving patrol and dropped, yet that didn't reset the mission for him for some reason. So I'm not sure how hard a limit that detection thing is. Timed right I think you could do it with just three. It would require a lot of patience and stealth, but I'm pretty sure you could do it with just three kills.

You would have to kill the two guys who stand stationary guard on the chopper, while the other two are headed away. There is also the guy who stands guard behind the sand bags at the choke point between the place where you land and the part of the base where the pilot is.

Without trying it yet, I was assuming the two patrolling near the helo would most likely result in a detection unless you timed it just right at their furthest point (at best) prior to heading back. For me that's the main reason I was thinking it might be 4 versus 2.
As to the guy behind the sandbags at the armory, I've gotten around him via a distraction both coming and going - but ended up eliminating him anyway due to wishing to shut down the generator. However another distraction might again work, if needed.
Agree that mission-failure detection might not be as hard and fast as it logically should be. Have dropped the guy who stands at the generator when he moves over to his second spot, and that roving patrol has yet to detect the body.

Trying to take off I always get spotted by this sniper and fail the mission unless I kill him.

Might just be bad luck though. Maybe you can wait for him to be facing the other way and scoot on outta there.

If you watch Nick's video he drops the guys outside of the warehouse you meet Kozak in, but leaves the roving patrol. The roving patrol finds the bodies, he gets the hunted alert for bodies found. He honestly thinks he dropped the roving patrol, and they just respawned(he was confused).. Anyway it didn't fail the mission, though it should have. So I don't know if that was just a lucky glitch, or if the detection mechanic requires you to be so close tot he detection event or something else I'm not aware of.
