Is RL's deafness to user's feedback killing the game?
I have been playing this game since the beta, and I have been on the forums pretty much from the start, and its hard not to notice a pattern here. Users give feedback, bug reports, feature requests. Some are loud and angry, some are trying to give balanced feedback. I would say all of them care about the game or they would not have bothered to register.
Historically RL either doesnt reply at all, blames everything on poor connections or lately (with Toller on the scene) either gives a general reply saying it will be forwarded to the developers / is beeing looked into (which never results in anything so far) OR simply that they have no plans to change anything at this point.
In the meantime...
- The game has hundreds of unfixed bugs that have been around for a LONG time by now.
- Server side PvP has still not been implemented and seems to have disappeared from the roadmap.
- Event are still of the same two types as ever, and no matter how much people ask for new ones, give actual suggestions, give the feedback that we are tired of the locker events thats still what we keep getting.
- Feedback on balancing changes, such as the latest douggie buff (throwing all strategy out the window) is ignored. Same as feedback about SF and Mystic or other specific cards such as Pope Timmy.
- Some changes have been made to mystic eventually, yet RL counter it by adding more mystic events into the game instead, thus allowing mystic players to reach higher card levels faster than other players. While other events, like latest fantasy, ended up being mixed so it was officially fantasy but yet reward cards were from other decks as well.
- More and more focus seems to be on P2W. Free packs and PvP rewards are quite weak even in legendary. Especially for users that have reached a point where they need 100 epics to level up the card. While more and more offers to buy guaranteed legendary cards are popping up.
- And so on, and so on...
I understand that RL cant listen to every single feedback they get, but at the same time: for every person who bothers to actually go on here and write something, you can bet there are 5 or 10 others that simply quit the game eventually instead when nothing improves.
This is not meant as a general whining thread, everyone has different opinions about the game and which changes should be made. However, what do you guys think?
Are you still going to keep playing this game indefinitely no matter what?
Or is RLs inability to listen to the community hurting the game to a point where people are ready to just move on regardless of time and money invested?
What kind of changes would make you stay on and what would be a dealbreaker if it isnt addressed sometime soon?
I love this game, and the potential it still has, but I find myself more and more often asking the question why I actually play it anymore when nothing ever changes. I personally believe its time for RL to unplug their ears and try to cooperate with the community rather than ignore it, if they want the game to keep its userbase.
I also think that most users would be happy if the next update or two focused solely on addressing bugs and gameplay rather than just adding new cards and game modes without fixing the fundamentals...

Clash royale is not perfect but it's definitely way more balanced than this game. I played that game for about a year with many accounts because it was fun to try the different strategies, I did the same here before many of the cards became unusable competitively and the focus turned even more on P2W users.
In clash royale I don't remember contacting support to complain about a game breaking bug. When I contacted support it was to give small feedback about what could be improved and they actually implemented a few things of what I suggested, so it was noticeable they listened to the community. Sadly, it's really different in here, but I bet some developers wish many of the things we suggest could be implemented, but I imagine some administrative head villain has the team focus in maximising the game immediate profit, even if that means jeopardising the game's image or the reactions they'll get from their players, so I blame him/them for their shortsighted priorities. There's money influx from the very pricey offers, they could allocate more people to boost the timing for everything that needs to be fixed/improved, but they don't do it. I quit clash royale when this game came out because I'm a huge fan of South Park and wanted to enjoy the game and at the same time try to make it better with the feedback that I could provide.
With so many dead teams it doesn't look too good either, what we see now may be just a facade of a game that's heading down faster than we imagine, but I hope I'm wrong about that. I don't post as often here as I used to because like you said, nothing has been done about bugs for a long time. They've explained they had to work extra hard on the server side, but they should have allocated more people to do it more swiftly. The few bugs they pay attention are of new cards because some of the current players bought deals just to get them so those do get supported, which is of course pretty lame for people who've spent time buffing bugged cards or cards that got dwarfed with the epic and legendary buff.
What's next, server side should be coming soon (if not they'll lose some players there), if that doesn't fix the bugs that they claim is only because of lag and the server side doesn't live to the expectations, then I guess many people will quit. As for what I want from the game they have that feedback already and tons of feature requests, but saddly their focus is elsewhere, and it will most likely cost them their player base with the slightest misstep, and maybe even without one.

I think “killing the game” might be a bit of hyperbole as things still seem plenty active to me, but it would be nice to see more in terms of a development roadmap. Right now it’s little breadcrumbs dropped here and there rather than a coherent vision of what is to come. The feedback from Toller in particular that things are being brought back to the team is nice to hear I guess, but not enough comes back regarding feedback on the various suggestions or plans on what is to come.

Well I'm more or less done with the game at this point. After 500 dollars into a non mystic deck I am just done. Barely able to keep up with f2p mystic coasters. Went from top 500 before the mystic super buff to dipping as low as 3k on a bad run.
