Do you want to know how or if you can destroy submerged subs, or how to have ships destroy them, or how to have ships avoid being destroyed? What is your question?

There isn't anything below the surface of the sea in Il-2 PF. As soon as you spot a periscope, it is just that, a periscope. There is nothing underneath it. Sometimes it shoots torps yes. However the poor ship AI makes any ship combat pure eyecandy and nothing more. Subemerged submarine's are in fact superships because they are very hard to destroy. Only if you set the AI ship paths exactly right you can sink them. I did not test it but it seems that they have unlimited torpedo's and no reload times.

All of this is rather annoying yes.

Zekes Vs. Wildcats server used to have a mission with a submerged sub for a target. The only way I could sink it was by dropping a 250 kg. bomb from a Val in a verticle dive. You have to be exactly on targets. Don't know if that's any help, but that's how I did it.
