What I want is for people who play on consoles to switch to PC, not for devs to refuse to make console versions of games.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post

Is it possible? I've never seen a game that has it. Not that that's saying much. My knowledge of games tends to be extremely deep but not very wide. Hundreds or even thousands of hours in a few games---not to mention thousands of hours of modding Fallout 4---no experience at all with 99% of total games.Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
And despite all those hours modding FO4 I couldn't tell you anything about how the game works on PS4 or XBoxOne, and I also don't know how the multiplayer aspect of Fallout 76 works despite other elements of the game functioning similarly to FO4. Though I can say that FO76 is also not crossplatform. And also apparently the versions are different enough that PC and console players sometimes get patches on different days.
In the end I can surmise that even if it's possible it's not easy. Because Ubi's strategy has been to simply make Ghost War more and more rewarding to try to draw PvE players there. Which I appreciate, don't get me wrong. But what if it becomes impossible to earn those rewards because the playerbase dwindles? ((((
I think you just hit the nail on the head. PVP's weakness is its inherent dependency on populating an event at any given moment in time.
That's what Bone is identifying, and cross-platforming is a means of achieving that. That is not to say that it doesn't present balancing issues, which it most certainly does. Console-style interface controllers with thumbsticks lack the precision of mice and require aim assist software to compensate. Controllers and keyboards/mice also vary on input registry. Therefore, you are presented with the fact that the best method for balancing is segregating platforms, which runs contrary to populating an event.
I usually disagree with you on most topics, but man if I could give you three thumbs up I would. 🤣Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
Cross platform on PC and Xbox it’s a no brainer and Microsoft is open to it. it’s up to Ubisoft to make it happen.
PS4? I don’t know too much about that platform. all I know is that Sony this generation has been more STUCK UP than a hot blonde knowing that she looks good.
