On the other hand perhaps if everyone took advantage of all these prestige opportunities it would have them rolling in premium items without giving Ubi any more state currency, and the real goal isn't to end crates per se---they're innocuous if they are a fun thing you can roll as a gameplay reward in hopes of something good like, say, drops from bosses in any RPG type thing since like decades ago---it's to stop Ubi and other games publishers from milking people for extra money and preying on gambling addictions and stoking the flames of conspicuous consumption et cetera.Originally Posted by shobhit7777777 Go to original post
Ghost War was free to everyone and can be fun to play, and, yes, these prestige payouts are transparent tactics to draw more people to PvP by making it so much more rewarding, and I was skeptical of it at first as well, but it's really quite fun, and is it really that big a deal to go there and play for a few minutes every day to do a daily challenge, level up once or twice, collect some event prestige, and get yourself a free item or two (or some credits in the store)?
Would that really be so terrible?
And then, hey, maybe along the way you even acquire a taste for it. I certainly did. ))))
Is PvP cross platform? If not, that is a major detractor. PvP naturally has a small player base, shrinking down to individual platforms is just rough.Originally Posted by non-exist-ent Go to original post
Yeah, I wish we could just ban consoles forever and make everyone get a bloody PC. What is this, 1990? How do these relics persist?Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
PlayStation especially pisses me off. Usually games on XBox are also on PC, but there are a lot of good games that are PlayStation exclusives, and expecting people who have a badarse powerful computer to spend x hundred euros/dollars/whatever on another smaller worse computer if they want to access those titles is monopolistic and unethical.
Also Sony have been absolute cancer about Fallout 4, for some reason they ban all use of custom assets, so PlayStation FO4 players can't have any original clothes or weapons or anything, and, worst of all, they can't have custom scripts to expand gameplay or get around stupid limitations programmed by Bethesda.
Also consoles hurt the rest of us because developers of multiplatform games often have to limit themselves to accommodate the underpowered hardware in consoles and the paucity of buttons on controllers.
I recognise that consoles make gaming more accessible to n00bs who cannot into computers, and I've spoken before about how pleased I am to democratise gaming and diversify its playerbase, but when it happens at the expense of a game's full potential and PC gamers' full enjoyment it's a little hard to stomach. ((((

Hah, I wouldn't worry about that.Originally Posted by V4MPiR1 Go to original post
Prestige levels convey zero advantages, it just means you've been playing for a long time.
I am prestige 13 and still have negative KDR and WLR. XD
yeah you can get health bonuses or more ammo and stuff as class traits that are permanent buffs (not the perks)Originally Posted by V4MPiR1 Go to original post
so yeah new players are at a disadvantage
Ah, yeah, that's a good point, a subprestige character is at a slight disadvantage for missing some bonuses. They're all pretty weak compared with innate class bonuses though, those are what really matter and what establish the sort of rock-paper-scissors relationship between the classes.
And then after that prestige 1 is exactly the same as prestige 999 in terms of the character's attributes.
Nothing better than the hassle free enjoyment of using a tool designed for the job. Having both Xbox and PC versions, I much prefer playing on Xbox. That's just my preference and not a judgement on the joy that many derive from specifying, building, configuring and tuning a machine so that the leaves sway in the wind at the right frame rate.Originally Posted by non-exist-ent Go to original post
We should acknowledge, though, that console sales provide most of the income for games like Wildlands. Without the console sales there wouldn't be a PC version, and you'd be left with the specialist, niche games that are PC only and there are plenty of these that you can enjoy to their full potential. You can't really complain that cross-platform titles hurt the PC version when in reality they are console games that are made available to PC players.
