Your suggestion is great, in game reporting would definitely be more helpful but still has limitations in what can be done about the problem behaviour.Originally Posted by moesuvious Go to original post
Anti cheat software doesn’t solve cheating either. It’s simply another thing for the exploiters to attack, learn to adapt and work around. It comes down to the impossibility of forcing behaviour in a remote virtual environment.
Thankfully TD2 would from what I’ve seen appear to have a completely different set up that reduces the exploitation of stats, has no quick medic based power up and so ends the current short ranged health burst focused extended mag to the face at point blank range pvp style.
I think there is some really great stuff coming.
It’s a real shame peps are having their games ruined in the mean time.
Ubi this cheat reporting system needs great transparency.
While anti cheat software cannot eliminate cheating, a good one can recognize it without every instance of cheating having to be user reported as in TD1. In alot of other games you report a cheater and the problem gets solved whereas in TD1 i sent 100% positive proof of a dude cheating, him on video explaining how he does it and all its capabilities and then watched that dude wreck the DZ for the next two months. Most of all what needs to happen is for them to come out of the gates placing harsh bans on any and all cheaters to get their point across. The first time you fire the game up there should be a stern message about it and then follow through on that message. I would of pre-ordered this game ages ago but with their total disregard for the subject in TD1 its a wait and see purchase for me with me hoping they get it right but having the confidence they can do at an all time low.Originally Posted by R1nKR_PS4 Go to original post
I have thought a system holds a certain amount of game play in memory. So that when a player is flagged as cheating, then the admins can review the footage from PoV from both the reporter and reportee. Something akin to 'system volume information' and 'previous versions' in Windows but in a streaming environment. We have quite a few of these types of things active where I work. Everything we do is recorded (even me typing this), but only if a person or system flags that user does the footage get viewed. It is pretty cool. I would assume streaming game footage would take more space and processing power, but maybe it is something that could be enabled on a case-by-case basis when several people flag them.
Whenever we as players are not able to block other people ourselves in the next release I don't even think about getting a copy. So far no news has been released on any attempts to combat cheating which in itself is remarkable. I actually don't believe they can do anything about it, or only for short time until new exploits are found. The only way forward is to let players decide who they want to play with, or not. If everyone in a session has blocked a person that is cheating they will end up in an empty (PvP) game. I don't need a reporting system where I need to prove someone is cheating.
We will release more info regarding The Division 2’s anti-cheat as we get closer to launch. The Division 2 is an opportunity to improve and expand overall, anti-cheat included.Originally Posted by moesuvious Go to original post

Saying anti-cheat will be improved and expanded, in writing, on the forum?
Here's hoping those words don't come back to haunt you in a few months![]()
And people wonder why information is sparse and usually not forthcoming. A certain subset of the community froths at the mouth and spits insults at the Devs for the complete lack of information relating to anything substantive regarding TD2, especially the anti-cheat........Originally Posted by electricbil2009 Go to original post
And yet, the very moment the Devs step up and proffer the tiniest bit of substantive information on the very thing so many people want to hear about, another subset of the community seizes the opportunity and replies to the comments with derision and the like......

Are you able to disclose if TD2 uses the same network model, or is speaking about that publicly still verboten?Originally Posted by Ubi-Zubi Go to original post
