Hi all!
Here are some large paintings by Roy Cross that were used for Airfix box-art. I found them at various places on the web. A few have been posted on this forum in the past, but I don't think they have been quite as big as these.
I'll post some more at a later time. I have more old Airfix aircraft box-art as well as artwork from other types of kits, though most of them they are not quite as big as those posted today. I'll also be uploading some large pictures of present day Airfix box-art that I found, some of which is of surprisingly good quality, and well worth looking at.
I hope you like these as much as do.

Oh Dear God Almighty !That just goes to prove you can never have too much of a good thing !!!Actually you provoked a flashback for me that I had repressed for decades....Ya know the way you can get cool mugs ,coasters(beer mats)and tin /enamel signs in the form of old Airfix box art?!Well when I was a kid I had an Airfix COLOURING BOOK!!!!!!I had totally forgotten. You may just have explained why I have recurring dreams at night about wandering round model shops stocked to the rafters with kits.Probably saved me a fortune in psychiatry !!!
EDIT "This is It!" P51D now my new desktop pic!!!Probably not the prettiest or most interesting but as a 1/24th kit to a kid struggling to put together the pennies for a Series 1 or 2 (or Matchbox purple or orange !!!:-) ) it has a certain Je n'est sais quoi
