    Fewer characters

I think far cry would benefit from chilling on the amount of important characters they have in this game. In far cry 5 the amount of characters they tried to cram in there was really overwhelming and to be completely honest they weren’t so memorable. I preferred the earlier games like 3 and 4 where there were fewer characters, but the game went in depth on their qualities and personalities, making them far more memorable.

I'd have to agree. I certainly remember all Jason's friends a lot more than the random mission givers at the jail. With the game basically treating the 3 regions of FC5 as 3 separate story arcs, they ended up just all having the same basic structure and mission giver formats as well, which made the game feel more repetitive. They tried changing a lot of structural things for open worlds in FC5, but they all sort of fell flat. Capture parties were near unanimously loathed, the resistance point progression system was horribly balanced and really a far less interesting way to unlock skills. Hopefully they learn from these missteps and correct them in future titles if not New Dawn...
