So the cover for the 3rd pass is out and I decided to make a post to get your ideas on the heroes.

1. The shield is probably Wu Lin or knight. But it would be better for wu line. That’s what my money is on. A DLC SHIELD! It’s about time for one of those. Heavy or hybrid or vanguard. A quicker moving shield character would be neat. ( in theme. Not actually a super fast character)

2. Neckbeards get a glorified mallet. In all seriousness that’s gonna be super neat to finally have a hammer. Heavy or hybrid maybe? I can’t imagine a vanguard with it. ( maybe applies a Debuff if you get hit by certain attacks? Think on the fellow thread on a designed Viking hero tyrjo made it, props to him)

3. Y’all can @ me as much as you want on the knight one due to my lack of knowledge. Dunno what that is, axe perhaps, could also be samurai. Can’t imagine a vanguard or lower with it. Please don’t let it trap. Leave it to nuxia as it’s her thing. Maybe it will have unique interactions as well, perhaps if you miss an attack you get a quick heavy through the back of the weapon that can’t be feinted?

4. Samurai get a sword or Wu Lin get a sword. I can’t imagine another katana but somebody is more than welcome to educate me. Perhaps the wakizashi or ninjato? The samurai lack a “precise” character. No roach doesn’t count. I’m talking always holding the sheath and only bringing half the sword out to block and maybe it’s will have very quick slash attacks and immediately sheaths it again. Maybe like on a heavy attack it will lower the sword a little, barely noticeable, and kinda do nothing but when the actual attacks comes its a very quick and elegant slash. .. or something.

Anyway that’s my take on the characters, drop your ideas below.

Just judging from the purple think on the sword pommel, I guess it will be Wu Lin. Samurais already have Orochi and Kensei with long and thin swords.

Same with red on the hammer ... must be Viking.

The axe has Samurai colour ... eventhough I am suprised of an axe

Sword and shields gotta be knight.

The word your looking for with samurai would be a iai jutsu user.
However orochi already uses a variety iai jutsu attacks. I was really hoping for a tonbokiri or tonfa user for samurai.

There is the Ono.... but its a smaller berserker style handaxe. Which would be historically correct tho. But berserker is already a viking dual axer and my guess is they will step away from assassins this season. Large axes literally werent a thing in japan so i really hope they didnt choose this when there are many better options.


....however i also really dont want another basic swordfighter.

Someone mentioned a Trojan...I think having the best warrior in history would be a good idea. I'd like them to have a sword shield and spear.
I'm going to say it again. I'd like a heavy with a large mace that drags on the ground and a whip sword but similar to the Witch-king of Angmar, also known as the Lord of the Nazgûl....or a large reaper scythe.

That shield has hussar wings on it.

That sword is purple like wu lin, most likely another fancy chinese dancer.

The hammer is def viking because vikings rule.

The axe is A. Ugly and B. No clue what would possibly use it. I mean samurai is the only thing left but just a really odd choice if it's theirs.

Edit: The more I look at it the more that sword and shield look like a Roman legionnaire. Hussars used sabres... but the hussar would've been so damn cool

I wouldn't mind if the sword belonged to a 'fancy chinese dancer'.
I like the thought of combining fighting and dancing.
Nuxia wasn't really the dancer I was hoping for.
As long as it's not another glorified light spammer I'm happy.
It's not that I can't deal with it, but it's anoying if it's the only thing that makes the character slightly viable.

I'm curious what kind of movesets they all are going to get.
Hopefully the shield/sword hero doesn't just do shieldbashes.

sword and shield is knights. It has Romen design on the shield but the shape itself is not Romen. Probably a mix between Roman/European design.
Sword is wu-lin. Seems to be an old chinese sword that pedates katana's. I suppose they could fudge the truth and call it a Jian even though Jian are double edged and this thing is not double edged.
The mjolner hammer will be vikings and is likely going to be miss called a warhammer.
And the axe is an over glorification in design on an ono (which is more like a single handed hatchet) for the samurai.

It's entirely possible I got the two weapons for samurai/wu-lin mixed around. I'm going off of the color for the hilts. Sword is purple in that regard. But Chinese have used axe like things in wars more than the Japanese. Beyond the color I just find it hard to believe that the Samurai would get yet another single sword that looks similar to a katana at first glance.

All classes will be heavies. Or two heavy and two vanguard or hybrid.

Ubisoft does play fast and loose with a lot of names and terms in For Honor, but that hammer sure ain't Mjolnir. At all. Literally nothing about the hammer, except the fact that it is an hammer, signals to me, "Vikings".

Well, there are some runes on the metal part and the pommel could represent some sort of dragon/lizard like the drakkars'one. Also, the axe is definetly less viking than the hammer, so my bet is: hammer for vikings, shield for knights, and sword/axe for wu lin/weebs (don't know which for who)
