Hello! Since Ubisoft Uplay update from this week, Wildlands (and Far Cry 5) won't open. In both games I have got the same errors:
- First I open, wait and the error message appears: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application".
- When I click OK, then other error message appears: "Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\System32\cryptbase.dll)".
The second error message appears with "Easy Anti-Cheat" title. So, I tried all of these:
- Reinstalled Easy Anti-Chear
- Checked file integrity (in Steam)
- Uninstalled antivirus (Bitdefender)
- Reinstalled Uplay
Here is the screenshot of the error messages (check right ones, left ones are from Far Cry 5):
Sometimes I get error in "C:\Windows\System32\ws2_32.dll" in the second error message.
This problem began occurring this week after the update. I have played normally both games until it. I also have played other non-Ubisoft games normally.
Thanks!!!
I have this problem too, I bought the game last week and was able to run it past the character creation, a week later i try to run it and pops the same error as above, only that the untrusted file is System32/ws2_32.dll
i have tried:
Use SFC to scan for errors in elevated prompt, also in safe mode and at boot, no errors found
Use DISM to restore system health
Verify/Reinstall the game from steam
Repair/Reinstall EasyAntiCheat from game folder
Uninstall/Reinstall Uplay
Update Drivers and windows updates
Give elevated privileges to steam, ubisoftgamelauncher, uplay
Reinstall OS
I dont know what else to do, EAC has a very bad reputation and now I see why, but I'm willing to try something else before asking for a refund...
Note that I was using a Developers Preview version of Windows 10 when I ran it for the first time, and also a friend of mine has the same problem, only in his case shows the untrusted file under directX folder
Curious the only other game I have EVER run into serious trouble to run is another Ubisoft game (FarCry 3)
KaworuIIDX, I have just solved my problem. Check the other post I created: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...asy-Anti-Cheat. Look at the my last post explaining what I did.
I was also registered to the Windows Insider Program and I think it was the problem. Hope it helps you!
Thanks for sharing your workaround pabloroxo!
