FC5 was supported more prominently and for far longer than any FC before it. I really haven't been able to understand why people were expecting sustained support for years on end or why they'd even want it, that goes doubly so for FC:ND, which doesn't even have MP or the map editor.Originally Posted by L1A1Rocker Go to original post
Im baffled by this too. Im one of the biggest babies that threw a fit during the marketting and release cycle for Far Cry 4. This was Ubis best effort in communication and support since Far Cry 2.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
i did not find the season pass content to be very exciting or worth the price that was charged for it but i did think that the game was supported quite well adding what they did with the live events and then the new game plus mode
i would have liked if the dlc expansions had been a bit more entertaining and full featured but all in all i felt that the game was supported for quite a long time 6 months is more then enough time for a developer to spend on a game like far cry 5
Maybe if you consider the amount of support by industry, and not be previous product you'll understand. When I pluck down 60 plus bucks for a AAA game, I expect more than what Ubi provided. So I will take my future $$$s elsewhere. Hopefully Ubi will realize that their competition is not themselves, but other game companies - that offer longer support. If you're going to get off the porch and run with the big dogs, you best be ready.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post

It isn't that every other game is being supported for a year plus, that is only something that is happening with specific games, typically designed to be supported as such.
There was nothing about the marketing leading up to release or any aspect of the game that suggested long term post-launch support & updates would be a major component for the game. Just because there are games being made that receive long post launch update periods doesn't mean they all should. Most of the ones that do were designed to have long post launch lives but FC has never been a franchise where that's the case and from my perspective the innate expectation that it would be that I've seen levied at the game multiple times now is absurd.

I'm not putting words in your mouth, as I never said that you specifically used the phrase "long term support", but if you can't handle a discussion where someone doesn't share your opinion about everything and all you want is an echo chamber of all your own ideas put me on ignore by all means, but it seems to me your definition of adult conversation just means sharing all of your perspectives on a given subject which I can assure you is not the case...
I don't think in modern shooter games enemy's health bar is needed. Two,three bullets (one headshot) and your enemy is dead. May be only some super armored boss. But in other games, not shooters, with strong Bosses, health bar is necessary. And sometimes looks even terrifying.....Originally Posted by Gr4nt8r0dy Go to original post![]()
