    Compound Bow

It's not in that stash bunker (on starting island) and I didn't collect it, could it be else where?

Always has been hanging on the wall, above the bench on the right (when facing the money stacks) in the back room in my 6 times playing through the game.

Did you break the boards to get into the second room?

Because this is literally the only thing I can think of why you wouldn't get it.

I am pretty sure, it disappears, once you looted the place.

Yeah, I just checked. That weapon spawn is not constant (same goes for the paddle in the boathouse), it seems to be related to the mission only.

The following weapon spawns are all constant and pretty close to Dutch's Island. You can pick them up/add them to your inventory by touching them in maybe 15 minutes. Use the boat, that spawns at the Silver Lake Boathouse and move in stealth on land. Then you have all free weapons right at the beginning of the game.

    Stealth Free Weapon Run:

    Dutch's Bunker:
    - Shovel (close to the entrance)
    - Pipe (at the entrance)

    Central Radio Tower:
    - AR (in the garage on a table)
    - Pipe (in the garage on the ground)

    Copperhead Railyard:
    - M60 (in the waggon in the east, where the safe is located)

    Sergej's Place:
    - Wooden Bat (at the fireplace)
    - RPG-7 (in of of his waggons)
    - AR-CL (on top of the other waggon)

    Bridge of Tears:
    - Compound Bow (in the Prepper Stash)

    Silverlake Trailer Park Dock:
    - .44 Magnum (on the dock)
    - Basic Fishing Rod (on the dock)

    Silverlake Trailer Park:
    - 1911 (on the table in the office)
    - M133 (in the blue trailer northeast, on the ground in a closet)
    - Aluminium Bat (at the green trailer in the center, on a shelf on the veranda)
    - SMG-11 (in the green trailer in the center, on a table inside)
    - Flamethrower (in the hidden bunker)

    Salvage Camp:
    - Paddle

    -----

And these Easter Eggs/Bugs (cannot be added to inventory or equipped):
    - custom RPG-7 (west of the Steele Farm at one of the cars in front of the tunnel)
    - SA-50 (next to one of the entrances to the Father Statue, Angel's Peak)

I personally prefer to develop my skills with the bow to the max level and upgrade the bow itself to the most efficient way possible.

Above all, has anyone questioned the realism of the bow in the game? I think it's pretty impressive. You can read about best compound bow to make some comparisons.
