    What's Up with Base Jumping?

So even in the new mission. Sometimes when I base jump, I fall feet first and die. Then at other times my character levels out and I can pull the chute. What is the deal with that? Is there a key you hit or something? Or is it just another glitch?

Sometimes, I jump from too low and don’t have time for my chute to open and die when I hit the ground, but I’ve never had that particular issue.

bro you just gotta button mash A as you sprint up, the minute the jump animation starts pull back on the left stick immediately to avoid loosing altitude early.

Sometimes I run like a bat out of hell, get to the edge but by the time I see the "hit the spacebar to open the parachute" I have already done a face plant and I'm eating dirt... tried it a few times and I don't even attempt it now.

Most times I run like hell to the edge, my guy goes off, and then fall feet first forever... Splat. Not liking that at all.

I concur that you need to jump from ample height, otherwise no amount of key spamming will help.

Is not the cliff we have to base jump off of ample height in the game? I have a 50% failure rate there, in which my character never levels out and just falls feet first.

So on PS4 it’s the same button we press to climb. Try that. You press it just as you get to the edge.

In my experience playing the main campaign, there's only so many places you can base jump in the game due to that. Reason being, 1, there's no actual jumping off, you have to run off, and this means you'll spend a fair bit of time falling first. 2, you don't immediately go into freefall pose automatically as soon as you leave the departure point.

It always feels rather clumsy unless done from an aircraft, and even then, in solo play you have to make sure the aircraft doesn't fall on you and kill you because AI can't fly them.
