Will you all please stop complaining about Pope Timmy and Mystical in general! I've been playing Mystical since almost from the start. So I've gone through the period when Mystical was nerfed to hell and almost nobody played it. Mystical has seen its ups and downs and so has Sci-Fi. Only Adventure has been consistently good and Fantasy has also was been good, but only in a supporting role.
And yes, Pope Timmy is pretty good right now. But he's not OP. I play him and I can tell you, he's quite tricky. Often you don't get back the character you thought, because you have to wait a little bit after a character has died and if you time it wrong you can get something else. He also often takes up space in your deck. At the beginning of the match you can't play him, because there are no dead characters and 6 energy for a mediocre ranged unit is just a completely bad decision. The last character to have died is also often some 2 cost assassin, so then the 6 energy is also not worth it. A lvl4 compared to a lvl3 Mecha Timmy has less health. His attack is more powerfull, but his attack speed is very slow. I see people suggesting to bring him back to 7 energy, but when he was 7 energy, nobody played him. It would kill the card.
I get that people complain about cards in other themes, but every theme has cards that seem OP to people who don't play with it. I can't count the amount of times a Fireball or SoMM knocked out my team. Or when I had to deal with an AQR poisoning everybody, not to mention the disruptive effect of a Mecha Timmy. Or what of a Rogue Token? That guy has also hurt me a lot already. I build up an attack and then Woosh, they get decimated. And if Mystical is so powerfull, why does it seem I am constantly fighting against Cyborg Kennys and Mind Controls?
I will admit this. Mystical is the theme that benefited the most from the big buff to Legendaries and Epics and the nerfing of commons, which made it a viable theme to play again. But before that, it was the weakest of the four themes.
