[BUG?] New optical camo doesnt really do anything... | Forums

So i was experimenting with the new back pack and checking the distance at which youre spotted against not having it on at all and I CAN NOT see any noticeable difference. Is this actually suppose to work as an active camo or is it just a back pack with a gimmic that is intended to "look cool"?
Disappointed with how this is all going.

None of the other camo has any effect whatsoever and I'm actually relieved if the optical camo has little effect as you report N3ngrana. For it to be a major factor would force people to wear it.

Who would want to wear it for cosmetic reasons only?
I hope it works proper, e.g makes you considerably harder to spot especially if you're not moving.

In order for it to work properly be sure that they're not looking in your direction, or that you're well hidden behind a wall or building.

No offense, but what’s the point of optic camo then? Doesn’t make no difference if the enemy is not looking at you or you are behind cover because that’s what happens in a normal situation anyhow 🤷*♂️

You were nearly invisible in future soldier while using optic camo. the only time the enemy saw you is when they was almost at touching distance. This is the way optic Camo should work in this game

None of the other camos appear to make you invisible either. It worked accordingly in future soldier. I don't play this games PVP im sure it would be OP in that. I do play this regularly in PVE and was expecting it to work like it has in other ghost recon games. I was disappointed to discover it is a fashion accessory that serves no purpose other than to "disappear" when crouched and prone.

I dont think it would force anyone to wear it at all. PvE is a playground. There are time I play stealthy and times when I use the jackdaw and musket ONLY. If UBI are worried about people abusing it for challenges then they can make a restriction on said challenge not allowing that piece of gear, just like some challenges have to be pistol only etc.

My thoughts also. NOW they introduce an actual camo effect into the game? WTF??!!!
Story-wise; it's an early prototype (pre FS) right? Well guys, it doesn't work as they thought would ... so back to the drawing boards ...

Agreed the optical camo in PVP would need to be a whole new class with its own restrictions so it won’t be OP
