I have saved up enough credits to buy about 20 prestige crates and have 10 Spec Ops crates waiting to be opened. According to the inventory screen on the crate page, there are about 120 items in prestige crates I don't have and there is currently nothing available in the Spec Ops crate inventory (I have it all as of now).

I'm wondering if there's any advantage to opening Prestige crates first vs Spec Ops crates?

Do they normally put different items in the Spec Ops crates from the Prestige crates? I really never paid much attention to what kind of stuff was in what type of crate before.

After the patch they will do the same items. So open your prestige crates first. It will give you a smaller chance of duplicates.

Or more specifically battle crate items can be found in prestige crates after the new patch---though the chance is small---but not the reverse.

But, yes, opening prestige crates first is wise. Try to get some dank new l00tz from those, small chance though it may be, before you use your assured chances at new items via the specops crates.

It still holds. Prestige Crates can still result in a duplicate, and assuming that you haven't already obtained all of the potential items in the respective pool, Battle Crates cannot.
