    Cash grab?

Is far cry new dawn an easy cash grab? imo it is. i created this scene below in the fc5 map editor on xb1x to show how easy new dawn was to create. this took me 40 minutes to make. the reason support for fc5 ended early was to focus on new dawn. it's a cash grab pure and simple.

Create an entire game complete with CGI cut scenes, a professionally written script, and professional voice acting etc (not to mention marketing/distribution). And then come back and tell us all how easy/cheap it is.

90% of the game was already there, it's called fc5.

Long story short, here's what's been retained from FC5.
    1. The engine and a lot of the base coding.
    2. The basic terrain.

Everything else is new, new models, new textures, ai updates, new particle effects, new weapons, new voice actors, a completely redone vegetation, etc etc etc.

    No it isn't.

New Dawn will require NEW voice acting, NEW writing, NEW CGI scenes, NEW assets, NEW motion capture, NEW Marketing/Distribution, etc etc etc..... Which all costs a LOT of money.

It's very likely that new dawn was developed side by side with fc5 under the same budget. so most of the cgi and voice acting was done at the same time under the fc5 dev budget, but kept for a later date. this is far cry 5 dlc not a new game with it's own budget. it's the same team. it should be $20 dlc.

You still have to pay people for their time.

Far Cry Primal used Far Cry 4's map.

Far Cry New Dawn will use Far Cry 5's map.

They will likely reuse a lot of character models and vehicles, character animations, etc. This cuts down on game design time and costs (which is why it's cheaper than FC5). But you still have to design and apply textures, terrain textures (like vegetation and water), structures (because although the church in the trailer LOOKS like FC5's church, in the 8 minutes of gameplay you can see it's not the same model). and a million other things.

It's simply not as easy as you're making it out to be.

"Cash grab, cash grab" - talking about money all the way! We are living in capitalistic society.....What do you want from developers? Game free?! They should feed their families!

I paid £49 for fc5 - new game with map editor, mp and campaign.

new dawn is £39 not a new game with only a campaign.

now tell me £39 for new dawn is good value for money.
