Over the shoulder vs. scope accuracy

Does anyone know if the 3rd person Over the Shoulder view is as accurate or less accurate as Aim Down sights view (with scope up?)

I know random hip fire is much less accurate wuen choosing ADS view, but is the over the shoulder 3rd person firing much less accurate?

    Anyone at UBI know?

Personally, I do try to keep it as real as possible when I shoot so I only do so in ADS and have not tried Over the Shoulder shooting and since the Devs were trying to be as authentic as they could... God, I almost made it through the whole thing I wanted to type w/o busting a gut laughing.

Anyways, If it isn't less accurate... it should be

From my experience they are equally accurate. And that’s as it should be to my mind. OTS is still aimed. It’s just player preference on the game view. From an immersion POV, it’s why I’d like a sight like the Leupold D-evo. (There is something similar in game, but only for sniper rifles). OTS could represent red dot, them ADS is switching to the magnified sight.

I think it is supposed to be the same recoil effect on accuracy in both OTS zoom and ADS zoom, but I've not tested it. This would be to allow players to choose which view they use as a preference rather than a performance difference. Of course the situational advantages of either view come into play if you're suddenly in a CQB with a magnified scope, or shooting at range.

As you say, hip fire when you are not zoomed at all has the highest recoil effect on accuracy.

I dabbled with both, and ADS is more accurate and reliable than over the shoulder. You are more likely to get hindered by the camera when aiming around corners, and that tends to make you miss your shots. Let’s not even forget the fact that your character will just hug his rifle if you happen to be facing a wall front and center while a couple inches away.

Hard disagree there. I've never been able to get behind the idea of "first person" automatically being more realistic or immersive. There are often plenty of things about playing a game in first-person that in my opinion only make the game seem less realistic. For most shooters I find myself preferring third person because the pulled-back view simulates peripheral vision and spatial awareness from additional senses that you don't get in first-person. Seeing my avatar's body also makes me feel more aware of it, in the way that I am aware of my own body, and how it takes up space in the world around me. First-person, to me, often feels like a floating head, like I'm not really present.

From a gameplay perspective there are also reasons you might want one over the other depending on the situation, so it's awesome that you can switch between them without losing performance.

I find being scoped in more accurate. I only shoot and third person at close range in the heat of the battle.

And PVP ghost war if you have to perk “steady hands” enabled, it doesn’t matter.
