Do we ever own the game to begin with Uplay, Origin, Steam. You rent your game for a hefty price but it is never truly yours if you can't download the whole thing onto your hard drive and install without those "gateways" inbetween. I suppose it must take one of those "gateways" to go broke before realising that your portofolio of games went poof into nothingness before having a debate of how far one can go to protect "the bottom line".
It is more of a lease arrangement, if these services ever were to die they can't guarantee you that you get to keep your games. Which is why i am very pro Gog, but very few new games hit that store unfortunately. I try to score as many games as i can in physical copies, but playing on PC 90% of the time doesn't make it easy. Also quite a few games require these services to be used, which is pish posh, it should be optional.Originally Posted by bizantura Go to original post
In regards to the points, I just started using Uplay a few months ago to play all the AC games on PC, used to play them on PS3 and have missed quite a few entries to the franchise. Still I burnt through all my points just playing the games now, unlocked every reward and so on. Though AC II and III didn't give me any points, Uplay rewards doesn't seem to work properly on those games. Sucks that Ubi is pulling this move though.
So in Canada it says "... Each time you redeem Club Units, the oldest Club Units will be redeemed first... " and club units you got after April 1st 2019 wil expire after 2 years..Originally Posted by OxIdOAC Go to original post
So lets asume you have 2000 Club Units dated before 1st April 2019. So if you want to use Club Units after 1st April 2019 those oldest Club units will be used first. Which means you must spend all those 2000 oldest units fast enough to able to still spend new ones.
As long as you still have old ones to spend all new ones will expire.
Shure, you are always stuck with that hard drive you installed it on! No download and install on the new computer etc. Very handy but you own it! I rather have it on a medium of my preference ready whenever I want to install and play any game.Originally Posted by Olympus2018 Go to original post
What exactly am I not understanding? The fact the Ubi is taking away value that was already earned from their loyal customers.Originally Posted by OxIdOAC Go to original post
Enlighten me on what is "happening here".
