Well, as someone with no particular gender or sexual preference myself I don't know that I'm allowed to speak for "gay dudes", but those words seem fine to me. As long as someone isn't saying them in, you know, a hateful tone of voice or something. Or using them to somehow undermine or belittle someone. Context is key of course.

I do hope that skeptics can come to understand that this "sensitivity" you describe is an attempt by oppressed or marginalised people to speak up about problematic language or attitudes when there's an obvious example to hand. A lot of prejudice is bonedeeply institutional in many societies and can be hard to address because it can be subtle and it's difficult to get people with no frame of reference to accept that "I am experiencing x negative thing because of my skin or gender" or whatever. We all want to believe racism, sexism, homophobia, and so on are over in the developed world, but some of us live with daily or almost daily reminders that we're not really postanything yet.

In any case I hope the next time a progressive person questions something you say or something said in your presence that you didn't know was problematic that you can see it not as an attack against yourself or the speaker but rather as a desperate request for help from a person who is too often on the wrong end of prejudice and is simply trying to share their experience of how words or ideas like whatever it is can negatively affect their life experience.

Maybe it's a bit naïve, but I truly believe there are only bad ideas, not bad people. ))))

In any case there's nothing wrong with a soldier who has the good sense to carry a few extra rations at all times. XD
If you got shredded six pack abs you probably lack the necessary body fat to be able to swim even wearing nothing heavier than a speedo. Throw a hundred pounds of gear on that, and you are going straight to the bottom.

Fat enough to float is a strength. Just saying.
