I just reinstalled Wildlands after getting a new drive. I have already got the newest drivers for my xbox one controller and configured it. When I went into Wildlands, everything works perfectly, except the left and right triggers when piloting a helicopter. I cannot move up or down. The same triggers are used for sighting in weapons and firing weapons, and even for flying the drone. The triggers work perfect for those actions. I have reconfigured my controller 3 times, and now I am pretty sure I am missing a game file or something. I went to steam and validated game files, steam said everything was good. Is there a fix for this?
OK, I downloaded Fallout4 from Steam to test the controller out on that. All buttons except the right trigger worked on that game. Sorry, Ubi, this issue is definitely not your faultI will find a fix eventually, when I do I will update this thread for anyone who comes to your tech forum looking for answers.
Try downloading this, I've just read that another player had the same issue and resolved it by installing this program.

Ha, I just tried that a few minutes ago. The app isn't working, though. It says to connect my controller, and nothing happens when I do. I'll keep trying, thank you.
Yeah, I can't get the accessories app to do anything. I turned on all the game mode stuff in settings, but it probably wants me to sign in with a microsoft account. That is the last thing I want on my pc. I will keep looking.
Just spent an hour in chat with Microsoft Support. They transferred me over to someone who knew about Xbox one controllers and PC settings. No luck there. I am off to try Steam Support, will update this until it is resolved.
Well, I have the controller working in Wildlands, but the news is not good. I just wanted to throw this in because it did resolve the issue in case someone is looking it up online. I played with the Steam controller settings for quite a while with no success. So this morning I reset my W10. I went ahead and did it under Settings- Update and Security- Recovery- Reset This PC. I was careful not to select the crazy reset where it erases everything and overwrites it as if you are selling the PC, just the basic reset was fine. You will still lose everything, so back up anything important first, and if you have favorite websites, make sure you have the passwords or reset those passwords to something new BEFORE you reset your PC. Under this reset, I noticed the sign-in was different. With W10 Home, it asks 3 security questions if you don't want to sign in with a Microsoft account. I plugged in both the Xbox one controller and the Wifi dongle to their respective usb's, then let the PC reset. I was happy to see I didn't lose the motherboard drivers for the LAN connection or audio. With everything still plugged in, I grabbed the Nvidia driver without the GForce experience option, adjusted my picture settings with the Nvidia control panel (hidden under 3D Vision Photo Viewer now). Then I installed Steam, downloaded Wildlands, and the controller worked perfectly. All told, about 5 hours of work and waiting to get it done. I know the last thing anyone wants to hear is "fresh install", but after about 25 hours of research and mind-bending effort, even going into command line and power shell commando mode, and delving onwards past page 30 in search results of all kinds, this is what it took. I believe it was a conflict with Steam and W10, maybe I got a funny driver for the controller from another modded PC out there running W10? That can be turned off under updates, by the way, under Updates- Delivery Optimization(toggle it off)- then- Advanced Options- and crank those upload setting all the way to the left. Good luck. And sorry again, Ubisoft, for thinking it was your bad.
Thank you for sharing your work around anguilimala!
