I finally got to handle a PS-90 (semi-auto version) for the first time the other day. It had an interesting feel. The stock isn't adjustable so the trigger feels kind of close. Sort of like how some of the SMGs that have stocks in The Division feel. Didn't get a chance to shoot it, since we don't have a range where I'm at. Still it's a pretty cool gun. I will be happy to see it in TD2.

Whenever I'm using a LMG, I prefer to fire in short, repetitive bursts.
If I'm not in close range, I try to get as close to my target as possible (before emptying my clip). I notice the further away I am, the more harder it is to maintain stability.
Are LMGs your preferred gun of choice?

Yes, I use LMG as secondary gun of choice for mid / close range asault. I use mostly the Big Alejandro and Hungry Hog on my Firecrest, Predator and Lone Star. Also, the Big Alejandro works flawlessly with my Firecrest / Predetor due to rapid RPM. It puts down enemy faster if you have the correct talents. Whereas the Hog, I love to use it underground (lower RPM) to save ammo and hit heavy on the enemies!Originally Posted by UbiSc0ttie Go to original post
I wish I could use the "gold" guns more than the exotics. I want the lower tier LMG to have a chance. And yes, I did use "short, repetitive bursts" for the gold guns. However, they didn't dent the enemies much... still kind a jumpy... haha

The LMG's are an excellent choice in survival. They also work really great with Lonestar in PvE content. The MG5 is on par with the Hog, so it's not only the two you mentioned. Besides, you already mentioned 2 weapons you could use in the LMG category, now try that with the SMG category.![]()
I find my biggest issue with LMGs is being able to get decent accuracy or stability, but not enough of both at the same time. Of course this is intended, and it feels worse after using a similarly tuned LVOA-C. Short bursts generally do the trick and allow you to go a little more towards accuracy to find a better balance. Aside from the Hungry Hog, most LMGs can benefit from that.
In my opinion LMG's are just fine for any easy target PvE content, never burst! just hold down the trigger and adjust for headshots as long as you dont run out of physical mousepad space for 200 bullets and beyond. On ps4 i feel having a nice recoil control staying on spot. MG5 and big al (highest difficulty in terms of control) may fit in the burst PvP as long as you are not getting in close combat by the strafing face rush meta game which.. and here is my point, shouldnt be a thing in Division2!
Dmg out of cover quite doesnt do it yet, lucky lonestar does but arent we looking for a competitive LMG viable in PvP, nailing down entire teams and filling the role of a high dps backup shooter?
Quality weapon design is supposed to equilibrate the dmg/range/rpm/handling ratio and make a wide range of weapons playable even if it slightly suffers realism, that would be the quest im calling the devs
I think I have to change my mind on this. I can't say (high) RPM was king. I think the real culprit was firearm scaling, it's just that the M4 and House just so happens to both have 850 rpm.Originally Posted by Blkandwhtknight Go to original post
I say this because Big Al and Bullfrog would be sitting at the top of the meta if RPM was king. There are lower RPM weapons that have a lower firearm scale than both the House and M4, which is illogical, or at least should be in a shooter. Point is, those two weapons are just unbalanced compared to everything else. So, the UMP RPM isn't terrible, the House and M4 are just unbalanced.
Since we don't have Firearms in Division 2, we can no longer sway the damage of a weapon so freely, so I think damage per bullet is gonna be important. Which means we also have to put even more trust in them to balance DPB - higher RPM weapons should have a lower DPB. They also changed how extended mags work, so that only makes DPB even more important.
From what I heard... they nerfed the M4? But the liberator (similar to M4) feels okay... some people says that the liberator handling is worse than the Bullfrog.Originally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
Talking about Bullfrog, I wonder if it will be a golden gun. It's because I don't like it's 3rd talent... really dislike the 3rd talent, ALOT!
With 1.8, they tried to universally buff lower RPM weapons while also universally nerfing higher RPM weapons. It's unclear where the line was drawn between higher and lower, but it didn't work because the weapon meta hasn't changed. Even Terry wished they could have done more on that regard.Originally Posted by lair360 Go to original post
