Collected 840 points, 680 about to expire by the end of the month...I mean Ubisoft had to pull an EA and Bethesda in it's own way. If only there were things that I do with 680 points, but there buying 34 games with 20% off just to have to do the same thing over again in 2 years is a no no. Such a shame; still hopping it's just a prank in a form of a social experiment and if that's the case whoever came up with this has issues.
I have 1172 points and have been collecting for 7 years, I would lose 851 points under this new system that is just insane we earned those points and there is no reason to punish people who have been loyal to the platform for almost a decade, we should be able to keep all coins earned before the new system as we never agreed to this new system and don't deserve to have our coins taken away. The coins before the new system shouldn't expire only the ones we get after this new system get's in place should.
You need to overall stop being so disconnected from us Ubisoft please you are moving in a bad direction.
A very poor way to treat your customers. Apparently according to their support an automated email was sent informing everyone. I never received an email or any other notification. As these units have a monetary value (20% off) then I’m not sure they can legally just remove them, although there’s probably some hidden small print somewhere.
Did anyone actually receive an email?
I’ve asked for confirmation of the date it was sent but they can’t provide any evidence and just say ‘it was automated’. Unfortunately that’s not good enough. I for one will not use the Ubisoft store again. Not sure what else we can do and they know it.
One very disappointed and annoyed ex-customer
Terrible move. I have asked for clarification via Email and I got this.
"In order to continue to offer a high quality service we have decided to let the Units expire so that the quality and and frequency of the afailable rewards can keep up."
Most things have been said throughout this thread and obviously I agree. We have earned the Units under the assumption we'd be able to keep them and spend them whenever we would like. I wouldn't mind it too much if they just applied the system to units earned after the given date, but applying it to every unit earned thus far is unacceptable. Ubisoft states the Units don't have real-money value, but they do. A look at the 20% coupon is enough proof already.
So after being encouraged to spend my excess points on discount codes they are changing the way the discount codes work.
"You have recently exchanged 100 Club Units for 20% discount to use on Ubisoft Store. Please note that the term of use of this offer will change on May 9th and you will not be able to use this discount on preorder and new releases of the last 3 months anymore"
It's obvious now the contempt Ubisoft have for the customer.
I am now officially done paying for Ubisoft games.
Today I received the following answer on my open ticket about expiry of my points:
"Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Support
As previously mentioned, we greatly appreciate the passion you have for our games and the community.
Please make sure to add to the discussion on the official Ubisoft forum at the link below, so you can share your feedback with the rest of the community :

If there is anything else we can do for you, please make sure to let us know.
Kind regards,

What can I do with this answer? Seems not really capturing the problem.
I agree with you guys regarding the financial impact. Anyway the whole retroactive approach is a shame. I was checking EU customer protection policy, so no other option: will go to EU customer rights page and open a case.
G.
i'm really getting annoyed with ubisoft. first they take out replay ability by not allowing you to switch saves & remove the dna! I like to have my perfect save where i got everything then replay the game. even on the older games where you can replay memories you don't always get to see the full cutscene or dialogue. i point this out as i own dozens of Assassin's creed games and when i do replay them i go back and spend points to get new things that have come out since the last play through. if we earn them by playing why would they expire? this is garbage.
i was a diehard fan of this series but am losing faith after how bad egypt was and how mediocre sparta was. maybe the community likes the open world endless quest thing but i like the stories. the stories made the altair, ezio, & kenway games so amazing. end the points expiring before you lose a diehard fan that has purchased the ultimate edition of every game.
