Hi all,
I am trying to complete 2 shields now, 1 with 10 boss kills in each zone, 1 with reaching level 15 of each resistance.
I was playing the south one today, on 2nd attempt I was able to complete till wave 13 and then game crashed. What a pity
I was using my 9k striker build with showstopper and lvoa c. Man, the healing is I believe at par with my tact 10k electronics heal build. I was playing solo and man I am quite sure I was only to do till wave 13 as I was using 9k build only. I was using ammo crate and pulse as skills.
Now comes the funny part. When my game crashed I had about 9.5k SHD now I had no idea where to use them to get classy / exotics. I used 2k to open a big sliding door, another 500 for ammo. Other than that I had no idea where to utilize them, can you guys help me out please?
Please do not laugh at me
Thanks and regards,
Niladri.
Glad to see that you are having a blast on that one.
To answer your question on what to do with the SHD? in the of the area you accessed after opening the huge sliding gate, you should see a few shipping containers, there is one that you can interact with to open (it will cost SHD) and in the said container, you should have a crate that will cost you as well SHD to open. the rewards vary between classified and exotic.
There is quite a bit of useful information on places like Reddit for Resistance though a lot of them don't seem to have been updated in awhile such as https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...up_to_wave_30/
At higher waves they start using exotic ammo so you might struggle with Striker - IIRC this can be mitigated by making liberal use of the fortification repair station (I usually just run reclaimer) but they tend to be in a poor area for doing waves efficiently solo and not in easy reach of the reward chests. The turrets can be a useful distraction on boss waves to help you through but in general you want to use as little SHD as possible on fortifications, etc. unless aiming to go beyond wave ~26-27.
Not really so helpful for you running solo as that is another kettle of fish but I'll reproduce here something I posted elsewhere as people seem to have a hard time with some of this (some of it is covered in other guides, etc.)
-If NPCs spawn and attack you outside the resistance area at the start kill them before going into the resistance area so people can change loadouts between rounds (if a team doesn't do it just leave as it will only get worse).
-Scanner waves you only need to start securing the laptop within the timer - aslong as someone is continuously in range once you have started securing it the round won't fail when the timer expires (even a dead player will secure it for quite some time).
-Don't open the initial door out of the first room on the first scanner wave until 60 seconds left - with Survivor Link you can leave it as late as 40-45 seconds this makes it easier to farm the additional easy respawning NPCs that come from maxing out the timer - giving a lot of easy SHD early on.
-First boss wave don't kill the boss until atleast 60 seconds left - lower if possible - as above this means you can farm additional respawning easy NPCs for extra SHD. Later boss waves this won't be so easy to do unless the team is coordinating well.
-Flashbangs are by far the best form of crowd control, don't use seekers especially gas as this tends to result in the NPCs running off (unless you need to chase some off due to being overwhelmed).
-Don't chase down NPCs especially if they are working as a squad as they will just run back away from you - dropping back 20m or so especially if you can get around a corner will result in them teleporting nearer to you and is usually much quicker if everyone does it than random players running around trying to chase backing off NPCs down.
-Don't spread out chasing NPCs around the map - each of the resistance areas have a corridor somewhere you can force the NPCs to come at you down a bottleneck making it much easier - the experienced players will run to this spot after wave 4 or 5.
-If the NPCs, especially bosses or hunters, have setup with their medic boxes out of easy reach of being popped drop back a bit to pull them away from their box rather than trying desperately to DPS through the healing - works especially well if you can fall back around a corner and setup there.
-Likewise on boss waves if the timer is running down and you are barely denting them don't just sit there persisting with the same failed strategy with 2 minutes or less on the clock - it ain't working change it up - run back a bit to get them out of range of their support stations.
-At the end of waves where people are out of position i.e. scanner waves leave one NPC alive so as to gather SHD drops and regroup - especially if the next wave is a contamination one.
-On contamination waves if someone dies they can't be revived and won't go into a downed state - be prepared to use your recovery or survivor link pre-emptively as someone gets very low on health.
-Don't open doors for the sake of it - as this often just gives the NPCs extra angles to attack you from.
-For harder scanner waves it is often better for 1 person with a strong support station (with immunizer) to secure the laptop while the rest try and hold down the NPCs at a bottleneck - killing them as slowly as you can so they don't respawn on the person securing rather than having the whole team in the open being attacked from all sides. This can also work the other way around if one player has a particularly good setup/level of skill and can hold most of the NPCs in one area while the rest secure the laptop.
I remember at first,I was as lost as lost can be,just opening all the doors I could, not realizing how limited the SHD was..
I was as lost as it gets..
Those youtube videos came in handy for me.. I ran in there not even knowing what crates to look for or a hint of where anything was..
I was just impatient as it gets to get in there..
Bad idea on my part.. lol
First time I did it I opened the first door right away hah much to the annoyance of my team - but I learnt from that (especially as things like how the timer works on scanner waves not being obvious) what I find frustrating is the number of players who seem incapable of learning and adapting for themselves how is best to do it from trial and error and seeing how other players do it and/or just plain ignoring advice (not just a language barrier).Originally Posted by CassiousCloud Go to original post
I'm sure I annoy some players who've taken it to a fine art and/or extremely highly skilled but if they offer advice, etc. I try and take it onboard.
Thanks for all your replies. Well I am playing resistance to complete the shield mainly. I will like to use striker as I really like the awesome healing. Also I like to stay in cover most of the time, I am not the dare devil type but very cautious player. If possible I will try to record one game session and post. You guys can comment on the betterment as well.
As for classifieds looking for deadeye and reclaimer gloves only.
Thanks and regards,

I really like all of The Division’s post-game content.
Compared to the more recent Ghost Recon Wildlands (a game I absolutely love and have played weekly since release day), there’s almost endless replayability and fun to be had.
When all that’s added for post-game replay value is a mission or two that will be beaten and done with a week later, there’s not much incentive to buy all the fancy cosmetics and guns if there’s no new gameplay to use it on.
Division has the hoard-mode (Resistance) for visceral combat, the random dungeon plundering (Underground) for level/mission-based play, the various PvP areas, Survival for a more hardcore experience, and West Side Piers for a more traditional Division gameplay session.
It really does everything it does well. Other games should take some notes from Massive.
The problem with it is how it is "supposed" to work and how people play it (who play it regular) is very very different - and very few people actively try to test themselves against hitting high waves as it isn't very rewarding to do that versus beat the first 10-20 waves as quickly as possible (depending on what you are looking to get out of it) then rinse and repeat. One aspect of it that I find interferes with it really working well also is the ammo expenditure - with the flow of the gameplay having to run to resupply ammo doesn't really work resulting in most people clinging close to a reclaimer which results in even less incentive for people to explore the gameplay options more like as intended also using SHD to gain ammo is often a poor and inefficient use of SHD versus the goals - maybe having a wave where you can secure a re-supply drop as the objective would be an improvement.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
Personally I really like and the reason I keep coming back to The Division coop teamplay versus AI in a variety of challenging scenarios and it is one area of the game that provides that.
