Settlers 2 History Edition change resolution?

Hi was just wondering if there is a way to lower the resolution in settlers 2 history edition, as seems the game defaults to your current desktop resolution, which in my case is 4K as nice as this is, every thing is too small to see clearly and easily. Is there a way to drop the resolution to say 1920x1080 or something similar without changing my desktop resolution?

    Thanks

I have issues with this too.

    I play at 1920x1080 on a 15" monitor.

For me it mostly the UI that need a scaling (for bigger scaling).

For now i just change my resolution on windows to 1360x768, so all the button/tet is not to small.

    Hi

Same... 1920x1080 on 15" screen.. the texts are illegible so the game is unplayable. The original S2 gold edition on 1024 had a good resolution for this game.

    someone has found a solution?

    Sorry for the late response.

I can only suggest that you change the display resolution to match the native display resolution.

Alternatively you could switch to window mode.

I honestly think there should be a way of changing resolution for Settlers 2, as well as 3 and 4, since a lot of people have the problem with the UI being too small.

It's rather embarrassing that this issue was never addressed. I mean, come on. Even playing on my 1440p monitor the UI is ridiculously small. On a UHD monitor is must be completely unplayable. And "change your monitor's resolution" is not a fix, lol. That's a bullhorn announcement that the developers aren't interested in addressing the issue properly.

Sadly, the DOSBox version of the game is more practical than this one if they don't add properly video scaling options.
