There is no best/worst weapon in the game.
I'm tier 1 and I'm using the starting rifle (P416) with the lowest stats, because damage stats obviously don't mean crap in this game.
You can use whatever weapon you like or fits your style, they're all pretty much the same.
Unaware enemies are 1 shot with every rifle, no matter the shot placement .
Just posting this because I'm seeing hundreds of posts and videos online about the "magic weapon" that is above all else.
Use whatever you want it makes no damn difference and don't believe all the crap you read online.
For the most part this is true, but there are a few weapons that really stand out sometimes.Originally Posted by poku123 Go to original post
SCAR and Mk14 for instance. These battle rifles have a unique (...twonique? since it's, you know, two of them? ...aaghh...) ability to perform well at a variety of ranges and give you a lot of versatility if you have all the accessories available. You want to snipe? You can snipe (except that the SCAR lacks the longest range optics). You want to unload mags into people at full auto? You can do that. You want high handling for CQC? Mod these weapons that way. The SCAR can match the performance of other 7.62x51 rifles (otherwise in the "sniper rifle" category), and the Mk14, while a bit heavy on the recoil and low on the ammo supply, can serve pretty well in a pinch as what the game classes as "assault rifles". Also while I'm not big fan of iron sights it's fun that Mk14 can have those when other "sniper rifles" cannot.
Another outstanding example is the FiveseveN being hands down superior to every sidearm in the game except that Deagle or the Joker .375 magnum outdamage it. I've found this is more than made up for by FiveseveN's high ROF, high mag capacity, and high penetration though. And before anyone is like "yawn, sidearms, who cares", welp, maybe I'm just weird, but I use a sidearm rather a lot. The FiveseveN is actually my second most used weapon according to my game stats. XD
There are a few other examples as well. Nothing is "magically" better than anything else, true, and you can do just fine with whatever you like, but there are certainly a few gems in the armoury crown that shine just a little brighter. ))))
That’s like saying every car is the same because it has four wheels and gets you from A to B. And sure, you could drive from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego in a Beetle, but that doesn’t make it the best car for every segment of the trip. The car you take to the drag strip is not the one you take off-roading or the one you take your family on a long road trip in.Originally Posted by poku123 Go to original post
The same can be said about the guns in this game. You can go from start to Tier 1 with a P416 but that doesn’t make it the best gun, or all guns the same. There are a lot of similarities, but also some important differences. It’s common knowledge that the gun stats are meaningless but that doesn’t mean there are no differences. There’s are even noticeable differences with the way you accessorize any particular gun. So I understand your desire to boast about your ability to beat the game with just one gun, and the P416 is highly under-rated. It’s a very good gun. But many of us enjoy the optimization aspect and using the right tool for the job, or the right mix of compromises in a single tool in some cases (Ghost Mode).
I think what you’re saying is true only if you are taking out enemies who are unaware. If you are mixing things up and getting into the odd brawl, that is when the differences become more apparent. Of course that doesn’t really work too well in Tier mode, (at least not for me in the higher Tiers), as one is required to take a stealth approach.Originally Posted by poku123 Go to original post
There is a noticeable difference when you need to destroy a helicopter or an armored car. The weaker rifles will spend roughly twice as much bullets as the stronger ones to destroy the same vehicle.
Alerted enemies also take varying amounts of damage depending on the rifles. I wish the weapon damage would be based on ammo instead of the random stats we have now, and for the new people: stats in the weapon screen don't really reflect anything accurately and can't be used to compare weapons. Testing is the only way to know how a weapon performs.
The SCAR in this game is really over tuned. It far outperforms its real life counterpart. IRL it is a highly unwieldy rifle with whose exquisite range is only surpassed by its amazing unreliability.Originally Posted by non-exist-ent Go to original post
Darkdally put up a video about this. Even in tier mode, alerted enemies can still be downed by 4 bullets from a fully leveled P416.Originally Posted by Hugo-FOU Go to original post
Really at the end of the day which carbine you carry doesn't make that much difference.
Absolutely agree with you buddy.Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
