So I was playing on PS4 doing the Medusa boss fight. I had died a few times and was really trying to beat her but after her second bubble phase, I noticed something all of my attacks did not damage at all. So, I was forced to die and redo the entire annoying fight. Anyone else gets this or am I just cursed because not even 20 mins earlier I had a glitch where the health bar was invisible.
The latest patch update that will be released on Nov. 29 should correct this glitch. Let me know if you have trouble defeating her after the update.Originally Posted by Deathreaper1944 Go to original post

Medusa is such a mega hit sponge that you can't really tell if arrows are doing any real damage anyway ..... I shot her with over 60 poison arrows and about 8-10 of them were devastating shots plus a few sword blows and only had her down by about 1/3 ...... Cripes that's enough firepower to take down 10 Mercs ...... After 5 times and not coming even remotely close It's just not worth to me just to see a couple of cut scenes I can watch on Youtube and get a achievement trophy or whatever .....Originally Posted by Deathreaper1944 Go to original post
I don't usually go for these RPGs because of the ridiculous monotonous boring hit sponges they put in there for no apparent reason ..... I don't feel any sense of accomplishment beating a mega hit sponge, I just feel relief and lucky because that's all it breaks down to, repetition until you finally get lucky ..... I didn't play any of the Trial of the Gods in Origins but at least they made that optional ....I'm a people fighter not a mythical creature fighter ,,,,,
Medusa was kind of fun on Easy difficulty and didn't take long. I'm sure I would have hated her on any higher difficulty setting, though. (When I buy a game, I figure that I paid for entertainment, not frustration. So, I never feel bad about toggling game difficulty up/down at any time.) After a couple of deaths, I found that the key to fighting her was to stay close to interrupt her stone rays with relentless melee attacks. She doesn't try her close-range grapple move much on Easy. I geared up and respecked as a Warrior and wailed on her with the Arachne Stingers, Overpowers, and Hero Strike. Once I was in a strategic situation where winning was within my unskilled grasp, she got a lot more fun, and I enjoyed how original that encounter was as a boss fight for this game. I was attacking for enough damage that the battle didn't drag on for too long. I kind of hope future Mythical Creatures will be just as creative and memorable to fight as her.Originally Posted by longjohn119 Go to original post

As to the glitch, nothing like that ever happened to me. My play through of Odyssey was honestly pretty damned smooth & I did almost everything you can do, barring the two paid DLC packs which I haven't gotten around to buying yet. Albeit if you bought & want to play the Atlantis DLC, it's necessary to do all four mythical beasts first.
Medusa in general, I didn't find so hard. She generally stays put when she decides to be somewhere & has a strong tell when she's about to do her energy ray thing. I just duck behind a pillar real quick, then charge her, attack a few times, then start ducking & rolling away/ around her when she does other attacks. Also helps keep her in focus if you hit R3, to lock onto her, so the camera always directly faces her. Pillars work for the energy bubbles too. The only things that can attack you there are her stone warriors. Since she's got such high defense & is hard to stay close to for long, but isn't too big, I opted for fast daggers as my weapon, then arrows whenever they seemed useful. Plus, have poison, fire & health powers fully upgraded & all on standby.
EDIT: I don't have the internet on when I play, so that may be a contributing factor.
