The first time I could find this in a forum message was 3-24-2004, but even then it was referred to as, "I hope it won't be the legendary "two weeks" again."

How long is 2 Weeks Be Sure? Does anyone know when it was first used and when was its promise first fulfilled?

It was always two weeks _maybe_ to a patch coming out and generally more than two weeks went by, sometimes much more.

The "Be Sure" came from other Olegisms. But the BS artists put them together for their kind of "fun".

You would have to be able to access the old Oleg Maddox Ready Room forum, and possibly the old pilots lounge. I've looked to see if the old forums are archived, but without luck.

That was back in the day when Oleg visited on Fridays and people were respectful. A lot has changed in 10 years.

Back then Oleg actually flew regularly on the UBI server with the community as well, usually in a bf109-G6AS if I recall correctly.

A lot of people were respectful but never less than a few were rude and demanding right from the start.

The old forums were on Lithium software instead of the current Eve/UBB platform and were pretty much completely lost in the course of several updates. Except for maybe an old Google cache or that project that was trying to cache the entire internet, you wont find anything from these forums much older than 2003 anywhere.

People were already making the "two weeks" comment before the original 2001 release was 18 months old, I don't recall any more clearly than that.

"People were already making the "two weeks" comment before the original 2001 release was 18 months old... Regards, Tully"

Ah, it has passed into myth and legend then. Thank you Tully and all.

Salute, and I think we will be playing this game for a long while yet.

The only thing I miss is that I wish Kami1 had been able to finish his B-29 project.

Memorial: Tinian, The Marianas: 1Lt. R. Gale Wilcoxon's crew of B-29, Snuffy “Them Shif’less Skonks, 676 Heavy Bombardment Sqd., 444th Bomb Group, 58th Wing. 5 of 11 original crew members killed or wounded in action.

Yokohama, Japan, May 29, 1945, 42nd combat mission: Snuffy is hit by flak, then attacked by fighters. Snuffy ditches off coast of Japan, and the sub USS Tigrone (SS 419) rescues 9 surviving crew members. Aircraft Commander, R.G. Wilcoxon, awarded 2nd Air Medal & Purple Heart. Tigrone goes on to rescue 31 zoomies on that patrol, the record lifeguard patrol for the war.
