Help with Unidad Conspiracy Theory Mission

Hi, I’m playing the Unidad Conspiracy missions, and while I can complete the first mission - interrogate the officer - I cant survive the exfiltration afterwards.

If anyone has played these, I’d love to hear from you.

I tried sniping all the Unidad at the base except in the tower before entering, but new Unidad spawn in immediately, making this a fruitless exercise.

I then successfully snuck into the base and up the tower, but as soon as I took out the two snipers, I was discovered and a Unidad Patrol alert pretty much assures your demise before you can get down from the tower.

On one attempt at clearing the base by sniping, somehow the officer you need to interrogate ended up coming out of the base to hunt me, but without Hud, I mistook him for a regular soldier and killed him. Mission failed. I could not duplicate this.

I’ve played it several times now and can get in and interrogate, thus completing the mission, but I can’t get out without dying.

    Any tips?

I went in with a pistol and liberal used sync shot. Once inside the base the Unidad stop respawning. So I crept around and killed them without breaking stealth. Then up the tower. Sync shot the two snipers and rush in and grab the guy. Interogate, and then go out the hole in the fence in the back.

I've never done it no hud. I did do it Ghost Mode at tier level 20.

Interesting. There must be some strange coding with the respawning... on one attempt, I sniped a couple and then snuck into the base with a pistol and shot the guard at the bottom of the tower point-blank and a new one spawned literally as the dead one hit the ground, in exactly the same place. It was strange.

This is the first time I’m aware of, where enemies are respawning where I can witness it. Is this tactic used by the devs anywhere else?

I can’t use Sync Shot in this lone wolf play through, but that’s probably how the mission was designed.

I've never had massive respawn issues like that. Though all of those missions are hard in that you will have Unidad swarming you as soon as you break stealth. Because of the clusters, I'm not sure that you can do the Unidad Conspiracy missions lone wolf in stealth. Good luck.

How I wish I had Unidad Conspiracy, simply to attempt it lone wolf. However, depending on one's drone skill limitation (if any), can you draw them off far enough to deal with them more on an individual, or at least fewer, basis? Or have you already tried?

I normally am doing that in other situations; just to break up clusters of bad guys.

So I’m doing it Lone Wolf and without the drone (zero skills invested) although I have to admit, this mission forced me to use what little drone I have.

The first mission, you have to interrogate an officer in a sniper tower at the small Unidad base in the most northern part of Media Luna. There are two guys across the road at the SAM site that are easy to snipe and don’t respawn. There are two snipers at the top of the tower with the officer. Killing either or both will get you hunted where the half dozen guys in the base will start looking for you. I tried that tactic once and they all came out of the base, including the officer, but at night I didn’t recognize him from the regular guys and accidentally killed him. I could then not get that behaviour to repeat. Then I tried carefully sniping the guys in the base, one by one, but then when I was sure there were only three left, suddenly there was five or six. Rinse and repeat. Sniping from outside was fruitless. I then made numerous forays into the base using stealth, only killing one or two that got in my way. Once, one of those guys respawmed instantly in the same spot. It was a bit shocking. What a cheat. Anyway, I made it to the top of the platform a few times, killing the two snipers and interrogating the officer successfully, only to die trying to escape because when you kill the snipers or grab the officer, any guys on the ground will spot you, attack you, and create a Unidad Patrol situation. It was impossible. I ultimately gave up as I feel the devs cheat on this mission. I played taking that base without activating the mission and it was trivial. Hence I guess they thought it would be more challenging to put respawning Unidad on Watch. Nasty. .

The other two are relatively easy, although I’ve heard lots of complaints about the Comandante mission. I must have got lucky.

The second is just a VIP convoy. Fairly routine.

The third one, where you need to kill the Comandante (some Unidad commander that wears a mask), you need to sneak into the large Unidad base in Media Luna. Fortunately, the way I approached it, without knowing what to do, appeared to be the right way. The Cartel were assaulting the Unidad base on the opposite side when I arrived, and I basically snuck into the command building in the Center to find the dude on his own on the balcony. I killed him, took his photo for Bowman, and left the same way I came, the whole time the Unidad and Cartel were fighting each other. I will probably play that mission again just to see if I fluked out in my approach or what.

I think it would be a no-brainer to buy this DLC for like $5-$10. But as it stands you need to buy the full year one season pass to get it which is like $40-$50. It’s odd because the Peruvian Connection is sold separately for about $6 if I recall. They should sell the Unidad Conspiracy the same way.

    Has to be a bug.
When I originally did it I used sync to clear the troops in the base itself.
Once that was done I went up the tower & took out the two guards with a pistol & just grabbed the cmdr.
Second time around on ghost mode same again only I popped a flash bang in case things turned sour in the rush to clear the two guards.

He's not using sync shot or skills at all, so that wouldn't help him.

Apparently on Extreme and harder difficulty the Unidad in the base will start to respawn after a certain amount of time. So you have to move your feet.

I did this in Tier mode a couple of times, however I used the noisemaker on the drone to draw the guy out.

FYI if you are going to ask for advice on how to do a mission you should probably list all of your self imposed limitations in the OP. It wasn't until your second post that you said you were doing it lone wolf, and your third that you said you were going with no skills and no drone. At least if you want helpful answers.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I’m really interested in how people tackled this mission regardless of constraints. I’m most perplexed by the respawning Unidad as I seem to have been witness to something others didn’t have to contend with. Sync shot might help, but not if Unidad are respawning the instant they are killed. My belief is that with respawning Unidad in the base, it’s not possible to escape alive, unless you somehow lure the officer out of the compound. I think that’s the way I need to try and do this.

For the record, I’m playing lone wolf, regular difficlty, with skills (except no Drone or Squad skills).

As an aside, playing Lone Wolf without a squad, I’ve become very effective at living without Sync Shot. In some cases, it requires more patience as you wait for an enemy to be out of sight from his buddies before turfing him, but usually, I am quick enough in regular difficulty to take down 3, 4 or even 5 Cartel enemies in my FoV before any of them gets to an alerted state (Unidad are different). It depends on how close they are and whether they are moving etc. That’s partly the slower reaction time in regular difficulty and partly practise.
