I haven't used the Far Cry Editor since Far Cry 1 and am having a hard time finding physics settings or gravity, in particular.
For example, in FarCry 1 Editor, I could place a giant sphere (wrecking ball in this case) 10-20 feet in the air and when I started the map, the ball would immediately fall to the ground. If a character was underneath this ball when it fell, it would kill him almost everytime. It was actually quite fun! This would work for almost ANY object placed above ground.
Anyway, how the heck do we achieve this in the Far Cry 5 editor? Everything I place in the air stays suspended there when the map is activated/started. I want it to drop to the ground.
Any ideas? What am I missing?
Thanks,
Alan
Thanks for the replies, guys!
I didn't even realize that Crytek was no longer involved in Far Cry since the first one. I just assumed they had partnered with Ubisoft, but were still involved. That explains a lot of things.
Yeah, no kidding about progress.
I was really hoping to figure how to drop something on the NPCs from the sky, such as a car, and it actually can kill them - without much scripting or nudging - just by making it a rigidbody or something to give it physics.
I will see if I can play around with the scripting but I am now more motivated to try someone else's editor to achieve some of the fun I had in the FarCry 1 editor, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, RockStar editor, or the CryEngine itself. The CryEngine looks really promising - I'm downloading that now.
I'm just looking for a good sandbox to play in with physics and everything - and have some fun. Not really wanting to create maps for a specific game.
Thanks again!
