First, it is not a whine post. I really like this game, even though there are multiple problems with it. This is not about those problems, this is a suggestion for a different game.

The game itself could be anything, from a For Honor 2 to a Star Wars or fantasy game. Every character would be built on the concept of the officer basics: 500ms lights, 1100ms heavies, 700ms zone etc. The most basic stuff with no special properties.
From there, the players could build up their characters. Let's say they have 100 points from start, and a lists with costs (examplery numbers of course):

UB
Chained unblockable heavy (one side or chainfinisher only): 15 points
Chained unblockable heavy (chained or after parry): 30 points

New chains:
One three part chain (choosable): 5 points
Three different three part chains (choosable): 10 points
All three part chains: 25 points
Infinite chain with restriction (berserker or aramusha): 35 points
Infinite with no restrictions: 50 points

Damage:
+15% damage on five different attacks during chains: 10 points
+15% damage on all attacks: 25 points
+50% damage on three different attacks: 40 points
+125% damage on one attack: 40 points

Special:
Uninterruptible on three different attacks: 20 points
Softfeint bash on two different heavy attacks: 25 points
Softfeint light on two different heavy attack (three if none has omnidirection): 25 points
Two 400 ms lights or zone: 35 points
Forward dodge bash attack (slower): 10 points
Backward dodge bash attack (slower): 5 points
Side dodge bash attacks (slower): 10 points
Fast, feintable or heavy damage bash (forward or side): 40 points
Special stance: 30 points. Premade stances with different strenghts and weaknesses, appaers after leveling up.

(list is not full of course)

Everyone could build their own character. Before a duel, players could review each others' build to prepare, althought it might not be necessary. Maybe it is enough if certain changes would change the body type slightly to let the enemy now about what are they about to face.

I think this would make an interesting game.
