Just so you know: The same error occured in the original version when I played it 8 years ago. You might have some records on it somewhere.

It seems that this is an issue of Settlers 7 itself, because I also can't upgrade any building. It just tells me it is deactivated.

Weird, I played this when it first came out too and didn't have the issue. Anyhow, I just thought I would come back to mention that I tried skirmish mode and it had the same problem.

I'm also unable to upgrade my buildings, which I find really irritating as my go to strategy is the technology board
