I'm coming from r/forhonor where every unpopular opinion gets **** down immediately and it's basically just a giant circle jerk who cannot stop complaining and never seeing what the devs have done by now.
I have very unpopular views and really wanted to know if the people here will accept or even respect them or just straight insult me and ignore me?
Yes and no. There a few members that will happily debate a point with you without toxicity, most will either disagree or agree and nothing bad will come of it, but there are a few members who will absolutely shame you and talk down on you like their the Holy Spirit and their word is law. It comes with every online forum in the end.
I have never been on any real internet forums. Anything I need to know?Originally Posted by ChampionRuby50g Go to original post
Not particularly. With these forums in particular just try to avoid bumping threads, don’t name and shame, for example a player you fought in game was really toxic, you thought he may have been cheating you can’t provide their name in your post. Try to provide as much info as you can in your posts and people will get a better understanding of your issues and how to help.Originally Posted by Georg_Reshetov Go to original post
Thanks. By the way, how can I get notified on my phone when someone replies?Originally Posted by ChampionRuby50g Go to original post
Welcome! I don't think it's much of an echo chamber. Personal insults/flaming aren't welcome here, so if you run into any issues feel free to PM me. But balance discussions are what they are, so strong opinions happen. If you have unpopular opinions, people are going to disagree with you, and that's fine so long as long as you don't start describing each other with colorful language.Originally Posted by Georg_Reshetov Go to original post
Honestly I got no clue, and I only view the forum from my mobile browser too lol.Originally Posted by Georg_Reshetov Go to original post
You're really stacking the deck against yourself with a statement like that mate, but most people will listen to any opinion given, so long as you format it, and articulate it well enough. Can't promise anyone'll accept it, but they will respect it and read it. Insults and the like are straight up against forum rules, so even if someone steps out of line, there's a recourse you can take.Originally Posted by Georg_Reshetov Go to original post
Gonna need one of the Community guys to confirm, but there's a "subscribe" option under "Thread Tools" at the very top of whatever thread you're currently viewing, that might do it.Thanks. By the way, how can I get notified on my phone when someone replies?
Honestly, I prefer these forums to the Reddit boards, but even that comes and goes. The majority of the senior members from my experience are more moderate and approachable, regardless of if you agree not not, they have enough humility to keep things civil and humorous. Case and point I can name three players right off the bat that I would have never thought we would get along with, and now we are in discord most days having a good lul at life.Originally Posted by Georg_Reshetov Go to original post
I too have pretty unpopular views, did I can empathize there. Don't ever let that stop you from expressing your opinion, if for no other reason than others may feel the same and it helps the community to acknowledge differing points of view. Plus you may find that after discussing it, your views change with knowledge and experience.
There is a decent wealth of veteran players who can help you here, and for the most pay they are approachable and open with their experience. Candleinthedark to be specific is possibly the most helpful and ever present face of the community, he does the warrior den recaps four players that don't have time to watch or would rather not sit through the stream and/or have problems understanding the devs (their accents can be a bit much even for me). Tundra is another respectable forum lurker who helps with recaps when Candle takes breaks out doesn't have time.
