Stefans comments from Warriors Den light spam on competative lvl

So basically direction this game going is even faster lights, which means throw an attack because your enemy is throwing and u do not want to get hit more then he is.
Regular players must be taken in consideration and not just competitive ones as they are the ones who bring this game earnings. If the game is not fun for them, ultimately it will fail.
Insted of going unreactable lights to bring in some damage which feels cheap btw. Devs should focus more on good mix ups to do that job, that feels so much more fair.
Something like highlanders kick-to toss mix up.
Make it two or three possible right reactions which will not be easy, as they have tight timing and attacks have similar animations.
Point is that player don't have many options to deal with particular mix up - basically only right or wrong one, and if it done right, one it gets its punish.
Exsample on raider - make stunning tap unblockable, undodgeable, uninterruptible, faintable and can come from all sides - forcing opponent to have only two possible outcomes. right or wrong one...

I just deleted the game, I main raider, lb, warlord, on ps4 and I'm just sick of the light spam, every time I try to attack shaolin can light on reaction and beat anything I do, so what's the point of playing when any hero with 400ms attacks gets an easy win.

I don't think the devs pay any attention to how the game plays on console. All balancing is done for PC.

I'm at the point where I need to wait until I move 3 hours to the next city in a couple months so I can get fiber op internet, hopefully that will make it at least playable on console.

You simply CAN NOT fix the game for new and veteran players. If you tone things down to the reaction of a freshman, then you send the game right back to the bad old days of the defensive meta. Nobody attacks, because nothing lands and defense os stronger then offense. You get a starring contest instead of a fight.

No game on the world balances the game, for the newbies, because every more experienced player would face a systematical limit, where combat simple doesn't work anymore.

That's why you have to put up a higher ceiling, and that's what the devs do, but in the wrong way.

I think unparriable heavies attacks for LB, Goki, Raider and potential later new super slow heavy Heroes would solve that all.

Let neutral or chained heavy attacks be blocked with regular block damage, or dodged, deflected but not parried.
They remain slow but heavy. As the name already hints.

No faster attacks, more bashes or too fast soft-feints. It wouldn't even fit a guy with full plate armour to wiggle his heavy halberd with 400ms lights. He is no balerina.

Btw this whole console thing will solve in approximately 1 year when the next-gen consoles come out. Ubi won't miss the opportunity for sure.

That idea about heavies not being parryable under certain circumstances would be nice. Current way it seems to be going with faster attacks is we lose the class distinction. The "Heavies being slow" fails when they toss out 400ms attacks.

If turtle is the problem....why don’t they just add more cheap damage?....instead to faster and faster attacks?

Speeding everything up can not be the solution. Also on heavy or heavier heroes it wouldn't even look good as you said. Same as it doesn't look good, when a PK or Shinobi parry a fully charged LB 3rd chain unblockable heavy.

The solution lies in blockable but unparriable stuff.

    Easy question easy answer.
Because in medium or higher leagues, heavy attacks (which cause chip damage) from Heroes like Lawbringer, Fat Boy and Raider are so slow, that they don't even get blocked most of the time. They just get parried and that's it.

No chip damage dealt, no matter how high it would be, because of the parry.
Also currently the chip damage is 18% of every heavy attack, which is already a good.

What needs to be changed is, the way how unsafe slow heavy are right now, which is completely garbage in gameplay and also not authentic in real life.
