Much Like Brawl, Once a hero is selected, That hero is out of the rotation

So I would ultimately prefer it if there would be a draft system implemented.

However, at this point I can settle for a system in which, ON EACH TEAM, You can only select ONE of each hero.

This will force the player base to diversify its hero pool skillsets.
It will stop heroes that are exploitable... IE the JJ currently... from running 2 and 3 and 4 deep in a match.
It will create discussion about team startegy and start making players assess the draft more and think smart.
It will also help create a far more diverse and fun set of matches during play time.

I would like to suggest that the developers limit each hero selection to ONE of each hero on each side of the match. Per match.

They could implement this as a different mode, Or in ranked breach if tournaments ever get real.

but allowing duplicates in matches is important for a variety of reasons.
First matchmaking is done primarily based on skill levels, some players really hard focus one hero, and if their hero gets picked before they can grab it they can get left with a hero they have little experience with/or with lack of perks. When someone plays breach they want to be able to play their character.

Second, team comp is kinda fun in this game. Running 4 man centurions or JJ squads in cancerous, but people should be able to enjoy that from time to time. Its also fun to run all four wardens, or all 4 orochi's.(most of the time that goes bad for the orochis but you get the point)

Third It'd cause a lot more joining and quiting. after getting into a lobby you find your two or three mains are all already in use so you leave the match, this would make match making, especially joining in progress take a lot longer. and would mess up the que.

    Final comments
Despite the weird pleasure/frustration of 4 JJ teams a team with four different heroes that still operates synergistic-ally is much more satisfying IMO.
Despite my above comments I wouldn't mind a 2 hero limit, but I still get why its not implemented. Some heroes complement eachother in very interesting ways. Like right now one of my favorite team comps is two Tiandi, one aramusha (me) and one Shinobi. My gang has the two tiandi looking like twin bros and sisters, and they stick together while the shinobi and me branch out because we've figured out very well how to work with eachothers mechanics to abuse people. I LOVE the shinobi aramusha synergy, And honestly there'd be less available team comps if duplicates werent allowed.
4 shamans feels cancerous... unless your a heavy with decent ranged sweeps, but 4 shaman teams can easily be beaten if you know whats coming. A better comp will always be a peacekeeper/nobushi/Shinobi + Shaman thus allowing external bleeds to be abused. One of my favorites here is 1 Nobushi, two Shamans, and one varied heavy.

In short: Team comp would be really lame if limited to one of each hero.

So, in response to your response... I guess Ill go through the counter points here:

    1. As I said, this will force players to diversify their hero pool and skillsets. Which is needed. So, to say that they shouldn't limit hero selection because it means someone can't pick a hero duplicate, well... thats kind of the point. They need to play the game and get some heroes down.
    2. The algorithm for mm selection can be done the same way. How? You make PVP and Ranked unavailable unless you have at least 3 heroes from each faction at level eight. This ensures that the players are not scrubs. It ensures that they have an understanding of counters and different hero skill sets. It also is a deep enough hero pool to make sure that he has someone to play.
It ensures that the MM algorithm is now matching players who have an actual baseline set of skills to go from. So, instead of some hidden advanced set of coefficients that it plugs together to create one coefficient and pool us in our rank; we now are placed in ranked sets of tiers within the system based off a more effective set of coefficients, and less of them. Making the algorithm more efficient, accurate, and quicker.
    3. The third point is moot, if you force players to actually play the game, not just one hero, and learn a set of heroes to level 8. Which is the level in which you have 180 gear score; hence putting everyone in the same gear score bracket.

Regarding the final comments, a 3 or 4 jj team does not need synergy. That hero absolutely destroys currently, and is knowingly broken in not just his fundamentals and skillset, but actually broken by timing and animation according to the devs; who have said they are "working on it".
So, regardless. If it is 3 or 4 JJ, or 3 or 4 Centurion... it is inappropriate, and and unfriendly. If at any point you are against 2 shinobi, 2 or more centurion, 2 or more Nobushi, 2 or more tiandi…. etc.... it quickly gets out of hand. Its simply not an appropriate thing to have to deal with this late into a games lifecycle. They should be at a point now, with this large of a hero pool, to where the player base can adapt to rules that are imposed to create viable competition.
And like you said, if synergy realistcially is better, and there should be strategy in picking; then my idea of limiting picks to one per side is not only appropriate, but most healthy for the game.

This suggestion should be looked at by the devs, and taken seriously. It would help the MM system overall.

    One hero pick per side.
