While historically, the ancient greeks mostly used hoplite weaponry (classic spartan hoplite with spear and roundshield), if we would make a Hellen faction, we could use a bit more variety.
- Olympian champions, especially pancrators or boxers would make a fine addition as an assassin. They were sportsman technically, but it was very bloody. If a little weirdo with a stick made it through, they also have a place.
- A heavy could use Ajax's weaponry from Troy: a big maul, and maybe big shield. Or a club if we want a Hercules themed hero.
- The hybrid could be an amazon warrior. Armed with a sword most likely, maybe with a shield too.
- The classic hoplite woud be a fine vanguard, but I have to point out, they were not exclusively Spartans. They were the bests for a time, but other Polises made armies from hoplites too, and eventually, the Chorintians defeated Sparta. Macedons did not change much on it, just expanded it with heavy cavalry.
I woud be really happy for a greek faction.
