Rebels Support... personally I am on the fence with them, as with the teammates its a crap shoot what you'll have, sometimes they stump on anything and everything nearby and other times they walk up to the S/B thugs or Unidad all nonchalantOriginally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
Now, I went to Libertad to continue with the Xmas Lights & Loud Campaign, tag a weapon crate, get there and there is a very small base guarding the 4 G Gas Station (or something lke that) and all hell breaks lose (one of the teammates got founded and I didn't even give them an order from the start), Ok, cool, I was just going for a stroll in and out to get the weapon but I start getting rid of some Unidad thugs, Proximity Mines on the entrance vehicles, helos start to come in and the party gets started and well on the way. Unidad heavy trucks roll in and I dispense of them with ease between the LMG (MK249?) and the proximity mines, I stay close to the ammo depot, helos get dispense with M203 if to close or MK249.
I do this for about 10 to 15 minutes perhaps but it also get tedious... like shooting fish in a barrel. All of a sudden I am thinking, OK, Open world sure but the helos come in from the same place every time, the Unidad thugs from the same road and trying to line up for the same main entrance instead of trying to sneak in from the side entrance where the Sniper guard tower was which I just remember I did not safe guard it full of mines. In the end, I moved on out of there .
....at low difficulty? Naw.... I always preferred Extreme difficulty and have went loud many times either straight away or at some point during missions. Personally, I don't like playing at Arcade level at all but that's just me.
One of the main reasons I liked GRW was for the more realistic damage you as a player and the enemy would take at higher levels. ....more "realistic" in the sense that it's not the typical run & gun, bullet sponge fest that most shooters on console are these days. Again, at the higher levels and without some of the skill bumps.
In my case I'm talking about the main game and not Tier mode. That's a different story for me.
Aye, Extreme is the ideal Difficulty for this Game imho, but this Thread is for those "John Rambo" Moments where you just want to mow down Hordes of Enemies on Arcade.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post

Oh sure, I did enjoy it momentarily as explained before but I think that I do enjoy those more when I am mowing down but on the move and not stuck in one place. Now, being said that, it does suck to run out of ammo in the middle of a solitary place with Unidad rolling down on you, helos galore and no ammo crate on sight ... talk about wanting to have a change of underwear readily available
There should be an animation for raising your hands up with a while flag![]()

I started a lone wolf play through yesterday. The premise is that my character is a former Mexican Cartel sicario that was wronged by Muro, Plaga and Sueno before they started SB. His family was tortured and killed by these three and he’s out for blood. He’s got nothing to lose and is out to make a statement to the entire SB that he’s going to end them all. So he’s not afraid to go loud. He has no high tech gadgets... no drone, no radio for Rebel aid, and no squad. I play without markers and no hud. Using Regular difficulty to start.
Out of habit (or perhaps good sense) I still start using stealth, but I will kill every last SB in any place I venture (rather than the bare minimum I was doing in Ghost Mode) so it makes for some added mistakes or unforeseen encounters that invariably go loud. I’m really enjoying it. Even once loud, if you’re effective, and constantly moving, you’ll still be “Hunted” rather than engaged most of the time. I still need to work from outside to in... I can’t just charge into an outpost and start going loud and proud from the middle... at least not yet anyway. Getting surrounded is a recipe for ending up on your back.
I’m trying some different weapons this time. The Vector SMG to start with for stealth. The great thing about this gun, besides the RoF is that it’s about as quiet as a pistol... and if I’m detected, it’s all fine in this play through. So I don’t need a silenced pistol and thus carry a Desert Eagle as a side arm for popping other bad guys while grabbing or extracting a bad guy if needed. Then I’m using the Stoner LMG for when sh1t goes loud. That’s so satisfying. OMG! Lastly I have the SRSA1 strapped to my bike that I can use to take out snipers or even entire outposts from a distance before infiltrating. I also have the SPAS 12 which I rarely use but it can be very satisfying also.
I’m using a bike to travel (no fast travel) and stop and kill every SB soldier along my way between waypoints. I truly am a Nomad.
I’m loving the mix this play through offers.
I've actually grown to like not fast traveling during missions since playing with no upgrades, and have only done so once. It was not to save time via the fast travel itself but to get to a different safehouse that had a boat which offered a much quicker mode of travel to the 2nd phase of the mission, vs driving a LONG ways down switchbacks of a mountain.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
That said, when traveling to a safehouse where I start a new mission, I always fast travel, and also when collecting weapon and accessory parts. During missions though I try to keep things as realistic as possible, unless it causes excessive time passage driving long routes.
I have found it's quite fun to find reasonably fast routes by connecting, paved roads, dirt roads, train tracks, and waterways with off road treks across grassland, and even dense forest gullies. The map is really well made in that even in rugged areas, there's usually a way to pick your way through it with a vehicle without much trouble.
My latest trekking has been via the Bolivian Min Van in the snowy alpine region of Inca Camina. I have only one mission left there.
That’s a good question. I think it’s reasonable to say that this character would not know how to fly a helo. I don’t think it will be needed, although there are at least a few missions I can think of where a Helo makes them so much easier.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
I guess I could justify flying occasionally by pretending it’s a rebel or hired pilot and my character is just a passenger. But there will certainly be no summoning a helicopter out in the field.
I only use the rebel vehicle drop to get a new motorbike if it gets taken off the map by the game engine when I die. For extraction missions I steal a nearby Cartel vehicle. Otherwise I don’t use Rebel support at all, although I may need them to succeed at some defensive missions (which are usually for them anyway, so easily justified).
