Anyone enjoy playing loud at low difficulty?

Yesterday, after I got in a pinch in Ghost Mode, I changed the difficulty to Arcade and after I managed to get out of there, I forgot to dial it back to Extreme. In the next encounter I kicked arse on several Cartel and I was so proud of myself until I remembered I was on Arcade. So I then proceeded to land a helo in the middle of an outpost and kill all inhabitants as they came rushing to the scene - with no suppressor. It was a blast.

Of course, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of a perfectly executed stealth mission, but I wonder if it’s worth mixing things up sometimes. I think I’ve been constraining myself unnecessarily to playing stealth at max difficulty. I think there’s something to be said for going loud and proud on a lower difficulty.

Anyone else enjoy going loud and proud? What’s the best weapons for this style? What gun makes the best unsuppressed sound?

I'm playing through the campaign for a second time on Normal. This time I'm experimenting much more with different weapons and trying to complete some missions without stealth. I still like playing with suppressed weapons and I have Advanced Suppression unlocked. But I do have fun playing with a much less tactical style on some missions.

I'll probably try some missions without suppressors now that you've given me the idea. However, I really like using the Crossbow as my sniper weapon, and that's not very loud.

I’ve been saying this for awhile. It’s great fun. Dropping the difficulty allows you to get really creative. Parachute in and fight your way out. Set up ambushes. I love it.

I can't think of any shooters I enjoy playing as a tank, which is pretty much what you are in a game like this if you go loud all the time. This is why I've become bored with arcade games like Just Cause, where you can't even take cover. I tend to prefer more tactical gameplay, where your mind is the most important weapon in your arsenal.

I loved to switch to Arcade from time to time and play Terminator in a Unidad MOB.

It's funny you mention this OP, because after achieving Tier 1 on Ghost Mode I was ready to CUT LOOSE with this game. Un-supressed sub machine guns, Mk249, the Super90 shotgun, grenades, land mine traps with C4, parachuting....I was (and still am) having a blast playing on normal mode with the volume up!

LOL. That’s awesome... we should start adding tactics for loud play here.

I could definitely do more parachuting. And C4 traps... oh yeah.

I was thinking that one could snipe some guy within ear shot using an unsuppressed rifle, to draw them out, then lay some C4 or proximity mines and move to another vantage point... rinse and repeat until there are no targets left.

I was oh so wrong... there is nothing better than turning on ALL Xmas Lights and Ramboning through a Unidad Base, even in Extreme... you pretty much know where everyone is so it is just a matter of letting your teammates lose and if they get kill all the better, it is not like they will be covering your back anyways so might as well use them for shields if you can and just sit and wait for the enemy... sometimes I barricade myself with mines and C4 and see how long I can hold off.

Clear the Place from SB first. Put some Cars into that small (and only) Entrance to Malca Chapel and then trigger Unidad Patrol.
One Hell of a Defense Show!
