Dear Ubisoft,
It would be cool if you made another game using the Wildlands world where we get to be Unidad.
We could start out as a rookie and work our way up through the ranks. We could start out responding to calls about suspicious activity and show up to thwart Ghost's attempts to complete missions. Maybe eventually move from there to a detective role where we try to find out who the Ghosts are and track them down.

Very unlikely if you mean as a base game vs DLC. GR has always been about playing ghosts, not corrupt, heavily armored military troops that use overt tactics.
I'd actually rather see (as a DLC), a Ghost go in undercover in the Santa Blanca cartel. The problem is, they tried to do that in Narco Road, but made it way too silly and not story driven at all. They really messed up there, because now any attempts to do an undercover DLC will cause skepticism because of Narco Road.
Narco Road was such a wasted opportunity in my opinion. It could have gone really dark and edgy, dealt with the brutality of the Cartel from an undercover perspective and examined the potential moral conflicts of being in the Cartel and what you'd have to do to maintain your cover.
Instead it went the exact opposite in mood and meaning.
When I read the description of the DLC, that's exactly what I was hoping for. Instead it was supposedly a movie themed joy ride of extreme events. I hope they've learned their lesson because most have mentioned how awful they thought it was.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
Modders used the original Half-Life to make the original Counter Strike, which was then acquired by Valve.
I was thinking Unidad Blues would just reuse the world to tell a different story. I don't mind if it's not another Ghost Recon story. I liked that story and had fun with it, but I think I would also like to play as a Unidad Officer. Especially if I got to do cool stuff like hunt down Ghosts in an Apache. And then there's the detective story possibilities: Visiting crime scenes, collecting clues, questioning witnesses, interviewing suspects, and all that stuff. Maybe there could be a story angle where my character tries to fight the corruption in Unidad. I'm not that imaginative, but I can think of a few possibilities.
I really like the open world Bolivia created in the game and I'm just tying to think of ways it could be reused to tell other stories.
And now a personal request: Please don't hijack threads.
No one is hijacking your thread. This is a forum for open discussion about the game, and it's members tend to tell you what they think of your suggestions. No one making threads here owns them, including myself. If you want only Ubi to respond, this is not the way to give suggestions to them. Also, you never stated whether your idea was for a main campaign or DLC.
The thread turned into a discussion of Narco Road and how much it is disliked.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
I said "another game". I don't know enough about the implementation details of the current game to tell Ubisoft the best way to achieve this.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
All that being said, the closest anyone came to discussing the idea was to say it was unlikely to be implemented as a "base game". Since there was no real discussion of whether or not anyone else would be interested in such a game, this seemed like putting the cart before the horse.
Playing a part in a corrupt militarized police force that is doing its best to hunt down and kill the people that are trying to clean up the nation. Nope not really interested. At best it would be another game where you start thinking you are the hero and then turn out to actually be the villain. That always sucks in my opinion. At worst it will be another goofy game like Narco Road, where the story is just compromised.Originally Posted by MountainRiderAK Go to original post
The idea of trying to clean up UNIDAD from the inside sounds noble, however, when you look at the history of drug cartels, do gooder cops wind up dead and real change comes from the outside. The most believable story line(aside from being a corrupt supporter of the cartel) would be something like Benicio Del Torro's character Javier in Traffic.
(I don't think there was intent to hijack your thread, as Narco Road is a different spin on the idea of becoming part of one of the in-game factions.)
Is there a way to integrate a Ghost Recon story with Unidad infiltration? I don't know if tracking down/thwarting the operations of Ghosts is a direction we could go in.
